Ali's phantom punch was quick enough to drop Liston. But, it wasn't quick, or hard, enough to keep him down. Sonny faked that ****. He could have gotten up.

Hearns' KO of Duran.....the punch was a laser beam, which blew Duran to bits.

we're not talking power, just speed.

        Right, I know.

Thomas Hearns did not have heavy hands. His power came from how fast his right hand got from point A to point B.
He destroyed Duran with the punch because the punch he hit Duran with had more velocity on it than any landed shot in boxing history.

its a shame listons career was messed up by interference by gangsters
my uncle threw a couple of fights as he was told to or pay the price and then got hooked on heroin

Not what the topic is referring to...

                It's not fastest hands question.
It's asking what punch (single punch) is the fastest ever.
No this doesn't mean "Ali's jab"...."Louis' right cross"...
                A specific, landed punch, guys.

i think the second fastest could have been the jack johnson shot that knocked stanley ketchel teeth out. that was hard to see, althought the film was fast back then it still was a very fast shot.

we're talking about a single punch in recorded boxing history.
