The fight wouldnt even be fair, total mismatch

Roy has no size advantage, no power to hurt Haye

Haye is fast and quick enough to not allow Roy to escape, 12 rounds running away from a HW, no chance

Roy Jones would struggle with most heavies, i'd put money on Anthony Joshua knocking out Roy and he's only had 3 professional fights
    That's because you're British.

      All right.

Tarver and Johnson both knocked RJJ out with one shot at LHW. Clean.

Now granted, this was after Jones' venture to HW.

But Roy wasn't prime when he fought Ruiz at HW anyways, so that argument goes flying out the window.

I don't see the fight ending in any other way then Roy getting stopped.

      That's my two pennies.
I am certainly not saying prime Roy, he definitely wasn't prime for the Ruiz fight but he was still relevant before these 2 KO losses. Just a theory - could the weight gain and cutting back down 2 divisions have caused problems to his punch resistance? In any case, let's say this hypothetical matchup for Roy would be taking into account Roy's skill and condition right after the Ruiz fight, but before the first Tarver fight.

Personally, as I have said, Roy would have a very small chance of beating Haye by stoppage, so not sure why people voted for that, I believe he could and maybe would have won a tight decision, but I see why people think Haye could have stopped him. At the same time, I do feel Haye is being a bit overrated and Roy's condition is becoming a bit of a grey area to really understand how much of himself he would be in such a fight.

The reason Jones moved back down was because he knew he would get KO'd at heavy, he cherry picked Ruiz because he knew he could avoid him for 12 rounds.

I think Roy has some success but ultimately he can't keep a much stronger guy off him if the stronger guy is as athletic and powerful as Haye.

Yeah, you could be right...that's the more likely situation, but then again, we can't say for sure

Could go either way in my opinion. Roy's chin was always a little shaky and David can be quite vulnerable. As the saying goes, he who dares wins.

In 2003 i think Haye would stop him in about 5 rounds.. It would be shocking because roy would be winning the fight and then boom, haye would land something huge and ko him...

If roy could get past 6 rounds, then haye would tire, and roy would be able to outpoint

This sounds like a sound, legit prediction sir. Pretty much the truth!

RJJ doesn't have the physical strength to tire the much bigger and stronger Haye.
Even at heavy Roy weighed about 187. There's no way in hell he could have beaten Haye in his prime. Just too big and too powerful.

I think Valuev and Wlad are the only two people who lasted a fight with Haye without touching the canvas once. Roy jones has nowhere near their chin or size and around 2003 wasn't even much quicker than Haye was in his prime or just his normal shape.

                    Haye in 2 rounds, guaranteed.

I love Roy, but Haye sparks him quickly.

Haye has tremendous HW speed and huge punch power. Ultimately, Roy just ain't a HW.
