Pacquiao does very well against brawlers so it should be easy for him.
I'm surprised at the comments against the fight because it might be too dangerous for Pacquao. It think the word was it might "soften" him up. That my friends is the height of hypocrisy.Comment

Ruslan would be capable of backing Manny up and tagging him. Unfortunately, Manny would land shots with the kind of volume Bradley landed but with significantly more on them. Manny would mess Ruslan's face up and a stoppage on cuts/swelling seems the most likely outcome.
It's worth bearing in mind how effective Ruslan is at cutting the ring off though. And Pacquiao doesn't have the gas tank he once had to keep carrying him out of harm's way. He got tagged backing straight up enough times against Rios to suggest that a guy who doesn't gas after five rounds could make things uncomfortable for him down the stretch.
Could Ruslan hurt or start to wear down Pac before his face collapses in on itself? Probably not, but Manny is going to get old against someone and if it was against Ruslan then his punch resistance would be in for a big test.Comment

I think Manny has way too much side to side for that. I've read other posts here along the lines of Provo is a come-forward-monster-puncher. Yeah, but it's literally come straight forward, not the ring generalship to cut Manny off and trap him. After the Bradley fight nobody was like, "Provo, what amazing ring generalship!". Nope. Amazing fight, but that wasn't why.
This will be Pac v. Rios II, but with a version of Rios that may be more prone to try to punch with Pac. So he'd have a puncher's chance, but I'm seeing a fight fight where Provo spends all night getting ripped from all angles, coming forward but having to stop turn and reset, over and over.
I'd much rather see any combination of Provo, Rios, and Chino mix it up, and have Pac fight Bradley, or Floyd, or anybody who hasn't KOed him in the last 15 months and isn't a straight ahead puncher brawler.Comment
