There was no "vast improvement" in the Alvarado fight. The ONLY reason Ruslan won that fight is because Alvarado was seriously weight drained. Ruslan looked like he usually does - like shlt...

Nah, Tyson himself said that he didn't train like he should have for Douglas. He THOUGHT he was invincible @ the time, and in believing his own hype, failed to properly prepare. He was also going through that crap with Robin Givens, another distraction. Manny is much more focused at this stage in his career than Mike was when he fought Buster. Manny was attacking Marquez when he got careless and caught that right counter. Tyson was getting beat all night by a sharper Douglas. After Douglas, Mike never unified the heavyweight title again. I don't want a Provo-Pac fight, but beyond that, we'll have to see how Manny fairs.

Agree it seemed to be more a case of Alvarado not looking as good as we've seen him than anything special Provodnikov was doing but I'll rewatch it anyway.

Yeah Tyson reveled that years later . Are u insinuating that u know what's going on in these fighters personal lives as it's happening ? I'm sure ur not . Look it's a fight anything can happen, and does .

Same. Nothing to gain but a guy that's determined to turn it into a dog fight, and will lump him up a few times.

With Bradley, at least he doesn't have power, and he's a name fighter.

lol that was ****ing harsh. I've never heard him speak so bluntly about a match let alone regarding a friend. I'm surprised by his comments, I mean, he just finished saying Khan-Mayweather is a good fight and made no mention of Khan having no chance I think all boxers should know anything can happen inside that ring and as much as I like Manny, frankly he's one fight removed from a knockout loss; how can he be a prohibitive favorite against any proven, good fighter right now? In any case, Ruslan does have a shot, a very real one in my opinion.

Obviously Ruslan has to knock him out to win. If it goes to the cards it will be a blowout. But could Ruslan knock him out? Yeah, sure. It would be difficult because we know Manny is going to be extra careful these days, but in Provo we're talking about the same guy who nearly decapitated Tim Bradley.

It's a pointless fight, though. I mean are they going to put this on PPV? It'll do worse than Pac/Rios. At least you had a young, brash, vulgar **** talker in Rios to help sell the bout a tad. In Ruslan you got a complete unknown to casuals who is actually friends with Pacquiao. I don't get this potential match up at all. But if they're going to do this, and I hate to say it because it would be surreal seeing MP on a non-PPV card -- but if they make this fight it needs to be on a normal HBO card free with the network subscription.

Provodnikov has a chance if Manny breaks his hands on his forehead.

So Khan troubles Floyd, but Provodnikov is no problem for Manny? Not sure I agree with GGG on this.
