Don't agree at all. Pacman hasn't proven he isn't damaged goods yet. He beat a career lightweight in Rios's first fight at Welterweight, who had arguably lost 2 of his last 3 fights at nearer his usual weight. It was a solid comeback win but hardly proved he was the killer that nearly decapitated Ricky Hatton or beat down Miguel Cotto. Everyone makes Pacman out to be a huge puncher but he's not finished anybody since 2009. Prov on the other hand is in the form of his life, is a legit and proven 140lbs fighter with a very good performance at 147. Styles make fights and this one would probably favour Pacman but anybody who thinks its a foregone conclusion especially against such a big puncher is dumb.Comment

After Tyson / Douglas I will never in my life say someone has no shot. I Can't believe people haven't learned from that night in japan . And at that time Mike Tyson was much much more invincible then manny is now. Jus saying !!!Comment

Bud, I've been closely following this sport for more than two decades and been posting on this particular forum for almost ten years. I'm one of the few according to many who actually knows what the **** he's talking about. There's NOTHING easy about boxing. You're right about that. I've learned many lessons over the years. But it's gotten to the point know where I have started to gain mastery over the basic science behind the laws of nature in boxing and I haven't been wrong about much if anything over the last few years. Two fundamental things that are critical to success in boxing at the elite level.
1) Being first - this is paramount
2) Controlling distance - this is paramount
Virtually every fight is decided by who controls these advantages. You want to test me? Please. Test me. Let's see what happens if this fight gets made. You see if I have any clue what I'm talking about. In the meanwhile I encourage you to study Provodnikov very closely. Go back and watch his fights and see if you can't understand what I'm describing.Comment

This fight's not even remotely close to being "easy" for Pac. You're right, Pac controls the distance, but Provodnikov comes forward at all times, and make you fight.
Pac isn't busy on the inside, when they do get tangled up, and that's where Prov will do his most damage.
Did you watch the fight with Alvarado? That wasn't the run of the mill Provodnikov. He came in with a jab, and cut that ring off beautifully.
OBVIOUSLY, this fight is Manny's to lose, but a fighter like Prov will test him, and can make him turn old over night.
Also, don't forget the mentality of a guy like Provodinkov. He's got tons of momentum, and he fights for honor. He'll come out do or die for this fight, and he will tag Pac, and potentially hurt him.
When this fight gets made, let's rehash this thread, and I'll tell you, "told ya so." Not because Prov won, but because the fight ended up being a classic, and taking that many more years off Pac's career.Comment

Let's put this into context. If this was a one fight thing, Manny can retire right after the fight. Of course, this fight isn't wrong for Manny, and he obviously wins.
When I said this fight's all wrong for Manny, I'm talking about future ramifications for his career.
He fights Prov, takes that many more years off his body, and he still has to fight a Bradley, POTENTIALLY a Floyd.
I don't want him softened up that much more for those guys.Comment

Just because you typed out a 2 paragraph response, doesn't mean a thing to me.

Yes, Provodnikov comes forward at all times. WALKING IN. He doesn't let his hands go nearly as much as he would need to. Against a fighter like Alvarado that's less of a liability. Against a fighter like Manny Pacquiao it's a whole different story. It seems you have some learning to do, boy.
Let's talk again once you've had some schooling (after this fight). Agreed.Comment

How are you going to tell me "I told ya so," son? HOW? You know ****.

I'll bump this thread after they get done fighting. And yes, Pac will most likely end up schooling Prov, but he will take damage, bet that.
And what's with the name calling? Calm your ****.Comment
