Arum is seriously trying to cash Pac out and will push Koncz to push Pac into the Ruslan fight. He wants/needs to cater to Tim now because he will be his biggest name fighter and have the most upside plus his contract is near its end with Arum....dude needs to kiss his ass to keep him around. Arum will do whatever it takes to get Pac out of the mix before he gets caught up in a fraud scandal.

While I think Top Rank has enough to last Pacquiao through 2014, I think Pacquiao should not resign at that point. It he does, he'll pretty much have nobody to fight. I mean, does anybody really care to see him face Abregu? Vargas? Alvarado? Mayfield? The smart thing would be for Pacquiao to not sign with any promoter. That way, he can fight Golden Boy fighters and Mayweather. But from what I hear, Pacquiao is not that smart.

While I think Top Rank has enough to last Pacquiao through 2014, I think Pacquiao should not resign at that point. It he does, he'll pretty much have nobody to fight. I mean, does anybody really care to see him face Abregu? Vargas? Alvarado? Mayfield? The smart thing would be for Pacquiao to not sign with any promoter. That way, he can fight Golden Boy fighters and Mayweather. But from what I hear, Pacquiao is not that smart.

That would be a smart way for Arum to ruin the career of one of his rising stars. In time, Garcia might be a top fighter around 140 or even 147. But rushing him into something like that at this stage of his career is a terrible idea. Besides, I still want to see Garcia fight Uchiyama.

I personally don't think it has anything to do with how smart he is. Pac speaks in broken english so it's hard for us to gauge his true IQ level, but his english is actually pretty damn good compared to a lot of foreign fighters who have tried their hand at picking up the language. I certainly don't think he's dumb.

The problem is his loyalty. It's almost blind at this point. Now some may consider that dumb in itself, but you gotta remember that Manny came from nothing. He came from shambles. Bob Arum, even despite the possibility that he has been shady towards MP, gave Manny the pathway to worldwide superstardom and damn near countless 20 million dollar purses. I guarantee you that Manny looks at Bob as a father figure. Manny probably feels like he owes his life to him.

Now again that in itself may be considered dumb...but you gotta get in his shoes first. Imagine coming from the streets of a third world country to meeting a guy who helps mold you into a global icon and makes you a multi-multi millionaire.
