The dude trying to show off his muscles looks hilariously like a skeleton. My guess that's what started the fight after the other dude noticed the same thing.

Who would've thought Arum would allow that to happen? In any event, I think both fighters feel they have to go for the KO. Mendez has been on the bitter end of three controversial decisions. At least Barthelemy hasn't had that kind of bad experience. (And I hope it stays that way.)

Here's some interesting information: John David Jackson is Mendez's trainer. As you may know, he was also Magomed Abdusalamov's trainer the night of Mago's fateful encounter with Mike Perez. What you may not know is that Jackson was Bathelemy's trainer for his last two fights. That raises some questions. Has Jackson imparted worthwhile information about Rances? Has John David had his head in the game after what happened with Mago?

I just hope Barthelemy is well-conditioned for this fight. I have a feeling the game plan will be to overwhelm Rances and test his stamina in the late stages.
Wow I hadn't put all that together yet , I knew Jackson trained another fighter I followed , couldn't remover who. Yeah that kinda sucks , I wouldn't put it past him to give up info , these are big stakes. Damn.

As far as Rances . He got that one gift I think against useimme or whatever his name is. But if he wins tomorrow it all good .

Tyson is going to make a great promoter in the future . He always was giving with his millions and never thought of himself when it came to money. His level of humility is so high these days and he won't do what promoters have done to him in the past by robbing his fighters blind . We love you Mike! We love you Cus !

A lot of people thought Usmanee should've won that fight. I don't blame them for feeling that way, but I watched the fight again later and felt that Barthelemy won by a cunt hair. Rances was outclassing his opponent in the early rounds. Arash showed heart and started taking it to Barthelemy in the middle stages. But Rances showed serious heart as well. Although the fight was slipping away, he fought on and managed to eke out the victory.

In the absence of a clear favorite, most people pull for the underdog; and when fans saw the outmatched Usmanee turn the tide, they started seeing things his way. It didn't help that Teddy Atlas was clearly favoring the Afghan warrior, either.

I didnt watch it twice ,guess that was my mistake. I do remember Usmanee really fighting and wanting it middle to end. I'll take ur word for it that it was closer . That makes me feel better, I Hate when anyone gets a win blatantly taken from them.

It's just my opinion, but I'm far from alone. Most of the guys over at the Boxrec forums agreed, and thought Teddy was just being his usual, crazy self. One of ESPN's boxing journalists, Brian Campbell, wrote a piece about the fight a couple of days after the fact. He said that he, too, was initially outraged; but upon re-watching the fight, felt that Barthelemy deserved the win.

It's easy to get caught up in the emotion of the moment. Besides the "underdog effect", when most fans see a lot of activity, they tend to think the busier guy is winning. One thing is certain, Usmanee demonstrated that the way to beat Rances is with unrelenting pressure. I hope Mendez is incapable of that kind of output.

How about when teddy went all crazy with the fortuna vs Franco fight!!!
He thought that was a robbery when I thought Franco won though barely or at best a draw which it was officially
