That's because 9 of the 10 guys polled were Cuban .

That's my only concern with Mendez. I do believe dude has asthma and I'm sure that can't be a good thing. Perhaps, that's the main reason why he has to pace himself and why he tends to gas out towards the end of the rounds? I am still picking him though as if that's a surprise

Asthma? Is that a fact or what makes you believe that? If true, that's pretty impressive.

lol That would be quite the trick, considering there are like twenty five votes. Even on this site, there are only "five Cubans".

I can't say it's a fact but I believe I read it a while back earlier in his career but I can't say that's written in stone.

I was only kidding but I think one factor is that people give too much credit to every cuban boxer because they are good. I, too, am a fan of Cuban boxing. But I also believe that Mendez's skills are way underrated and thus could also be a reason for lopsided result of that poll. That's my take.

This should be a good fight, and will really determine how good barthelemy is,, We have a pretty good idea of how good mendez is, the only question mark is barthelemy,,

I like barthelemy by decision in a competitive fight

I think every Cuban gets the benefit of the doubt in their first televised appearance. After that, the mystique is gone. Barthelemy has been seen a few times. He's a solid fighter, but nothing to write home about. I consider Mendez to be in the same league. The reason why I give Rances the edge is because I believe the key for Argenis to beat him is lasting pressure. I don't think he's capable of doing that, and he's not likely to outbox the rangier Barthelemy. Whatever happens, I think it'll be a good kickoff to this year's FNFs.
