Exactly, good point. He's going back in time to get Maidana's bad performances and we all have to go back in time just to get some good performances from Khan. In boxing it's always, what have you done lately. Not how much hope fans had for you out of the Olympics and what good wins have you had in the past.
Clearly, he is hellbent on Khan getting the fight over Maidana and we will be running around inc circles with him. He doesn't understand that regardless of styles or who a couple of fans think would do better, it is always better to give the big fight to the more deserving fighter.
Can you not reply to me?
Or are you still embarrassed that I called you out on passing the Khan knockdowns info out as your own knowledge?
Maidana is tailor-made for Mayweather. If you Yanks want Maidana, that's fair enough. Personally, i'd like to see a somewhat competitive, potentially exciting fight.
Each to their own, eh?
I'm not a Yank.
I see that "It will be exciting" comes up often for people who support this fight but I don't see why that matters.
A lot of people thought Pacquaio-Rios would likely be exciting but that didn't change the fact it wasn't a good fight.
Maidana could easily be exciting IMO considering Mayweather's not fought a pressure fighter since perhaps Hatton and the last time someone with power brought the fight to him in Cotto he did some damage.
I'm just saying, Broner said he was one of the weakest punchers he EVER faced. He got a tight decision vs the weakest puncher in the division, and all of a sudden he's a force at WW? Come on.
He's a superb lightweight. He really is. But he's not a WW.

Were these fans partially-sighted, or owners of Golden Retrievers? Jesus, that fight had dud written all over it. Rios is pap.
Maidana is so predictable. Am I the only one who sees this?
I swear fanboy-ism dominates Pacquaio-Mayweather threads; perhaps i would be wise to steer clear.

They were. I think he deserved the nod against Corley, he just didn't look good doing it at all. Morales beat him in my book, but it is what it is. He could also have won the fight against Kotelnik, though I thought he showed some weaknesses in that fight.
I can't negate that. But I also think that there's been put too much emphasis on how good guys like Karass, Lopez and Broner were - as well as how bad Diaz was. Not counting Molina, as he was pretty awful, though Khan did look good.
Yeah, but both still could have gone either way.
All 3 of those are better than Diaz and done more in recent years than Diaz has.
All 3 of those wins for Maidana are better than anything Khans' done in years and the reason why he's relevant at the moment as opposed to Khan who isn't.
I think the intrigue for me is whether or not Khan has it in him to pull off a good performance once more. He's shaken off the Garcia fight now and if he could get back to anywhere near the level he was against PM, Maidana or Judah - then I think he stands a good chance of given us a good fight.
How do we know he's shaken off the Garcia fight? Edging past Diaz?
I don't think "To see if he has a good performance left in him" is good reasoning to see a fight with the P4P #1 especially when he's done nothing in 2 whole years.
If I look at Maidana's absolute best performance, which was probably Broner, he still looked slow and soft around the mid-section in the mid rounds and was hurt a little by Broner as he admitted himself. If I look at that performance, I don't see anyway in hell he could cause Mayweather the slightest of problems.
So why would I want to see it more? Because he deserves it? Not my problem, give it to Porter then.
Porter or Maidana I'd fine with. Either of them are one of the top guys at 147 and deserve the fight and have put themselves into position for the fight.
