Like I said the Floyd fight was a no lose situation for Canelo.
Win and he becomes and ODL level star overnight.
Lose and he won't take any damage and he is still young enough that if he goes on and keeps winning people will chalk it up to inexperience.
While overall I was disappointed with ginger's performance against Floyd, but he took his loss like a man and is moving forward. He is still the biggest Mexican name in the sport and will still be a major draw. He has said that he wants to fight 3 times in 2014 so I fully expect the Lara fight to happen in the next 12 months.

I disagree. The hype surrounding Canelo has certainly died down and he'll need some convincing victories this year to rebound.

Sure it has, but nothing that he can't regain by winning. You could even argue that more casual fight fans know who he is now coming off the Floyd fight. Mexican fans will support their own regardless of one defeat. He could still sell out any arena on the strip. But your right, he needs to take some risky fights like Lara to prove he is an elite guy.

''We believed that Mayweather was going to stand and fight, exchange punches. We were prepared to attack, hit the body, but he changed his fight plan by going in out''.

I expect Alvarez to lose this year, unless they overly protect him, which isn't likely.

Errrr I think Rigondeaux is a better defensive fighter than Floyd.

Canelo will be ok. He went in with the wrong game plan, I was expecting him to make it ugly and Ginger decided to box with Floyd

He is still one of the top 154lb fighters out there and he's only 23 years old.
