Thats why someone like Curtis Stevens made 300 k vs Golovkin and that can be what a title holder or star may make for a title defense in MMA.

Also best fiting best is hard in boxing cuz in boxing youre continuously taking brain damage where as in MMA you get hit all over the place and fites end sooner and quicker. Promoters, managers and trainers are wary of that and dont want their kids to get smacked up and become zombies but hey you signed up for it rite.

It would be best if there were multiple promotional companies, but the sanctioning bodies had a more active and honest role in the creation of fights; in other words force the promotional companies to do business with one another.

Both are valid points I guess. I don't follow UFC so can't say much. But the 1 thing is that I would love to see 'A fighter' taking on 'B fighter' simply because they have to and no bull**** aside.

What kind of a demand is that?
Would have no idea in the gimmicks of their side.
I'm all for fighters having their own promoters, it serves as an advantage to them to get the most out of their punches and into their pockets.

Still, I have an issue with fighters avoiding each other because of promotional politics.

Heck do a card and name it GBP vs TP and let them loose.

But some of the fighters are now suffering because big fights get roadblocked due to the ongoing rivalry between the two companies.

Well said Kneeguel. He's absolutely right. The reluctance to do business together hurts boxing.

It's beneficial for both companies to work together if money is what they crave. However it should be noted that Top Rank stock is plummeting. They're losing ground rapidly to golden boy. There's one guy influencing where it all goes...His name is Floyd Mayweather Jr. The fact that there's a TV contract influencing either side is even more degrading to the sport. A shame. We can only hope Arum dies soon...

Dana White is the promoter of UFC, he's in charge of making the matches.

Imagine one promoter promoting all of the top fighters in boxing. from May to Pac, Marquez, Bradley, D. Garcia, Matthysse, to Golovkin, Martinez, Kovalev, Ward, Stevenson, etc. That's the UFC.

If boxing becomes like the UFC, it would be a step in the right direction. Eliminate the competition and sign the fighters that were left without a contract because of the war.

When I was young, like 7-8 years old back in the 90s, I knew "MMA" as the UFC, and didn't know it as MMA. So this is nothing new that people know MMA by a name brand of UFC. Actually I learned fairly late that UFC is actually MMA. It took me to know about "MMA" until my mid teens. But UFC is an old ass company and I wouldn't blame any one for referring to MMA as UFC. I remember going to Blockbuster to rent SNES games when I was a child, and seeing UFC stuff for rent, I think they were videos or something, probably PPV's i'm not sure. But for a long time UFC was the only name stuck in my head for mixed martial arts.
