Why does Martinez have to be less than 100% for Cotto to win?

Thing is, Martinez is not as good as some believe he is. What are his best wins? A victory over Pavlik who was struggling with alcohol addiction? Over weeded up version of Chavez Jr that as soon as he let his hands go battered Sergio around the ring like a ragdoll? Or was it against PWill who while good was as vulnerable a fighter as you could find and struggled against Ishida. In fact, Chavez Jr beats Martinez in a rematch if he lets his hands go from the opening bell.
Cotto's resume and opposition are far better. Cotto will hurt Martinez and beat him via UD. Whether he is 500% percent or a 100%.
Zab Judah landed over 50% of his power shots on Cotto, Trout landed almost 45%....both lefties. Pac turned him into minced meat and dropped him twice....also a leftie.Comment

Bro, I would have to disagree with you on the Clottey win. While Miguel showed some skill keeping away, Clottey got lazy and did not take advantage of that huge cut Cotto had. It was right above the eye if I remember right. Cotto got lucky.
I would throw in Marg II instead b/c the Diaz game plan was great.Comment

Listen man, no disrespect but I think you're being blinded by fanboyism. I'm not gonna criticize you cause we all been there.
Like I said, at this point I have Cotto winning but if this fight was back in the day, an 80% Martinez beats him soundly.

Nah, Quintana was undefeated and coming off the biggest win of his career at the time, a schooling of undefeated prospect Joel Julio. Quintana was also a pretty popular pick to beat Cotto as well. This was also Cotto's first fight at WW.
Judah is more talented than Quintana, but he was coming off a rough patch with a win in his most recent fight over a nondescript opponent. Both good wins though.Comment
