Well we didn't get May vs Pac because of politics. We didn't get Silva vs Pierre when they were both on top. Then Jones came up and we didn't get Silva vs Jones and Sonnen can still get beat and go to the front of the line for the big money fight like Khan can possibly do. I'd say it's a tie.

That's Kovalevs problem tho - Stevenson offers both more money and a bigger potential reward in terms of status with the lineal title. Fonfara looks to be going with Stevenson - quite simply, after the way the pair of them have ripped through LHW this year, there ain't really much left outside of GBP or Bute / Pascal for either. Kovalev is likely to spend 2014 chasing decent fights unless HBO will put up the $s.Comment

People hate on Mayweather, but almost EVERY fighter who hits it big ends up being "smart" about how to pace their careers. Promoters don't want new stars taking on every risky challenge known to man, back to back. We even see it with Maidana. He just got a big win, but don't expect him to pick Lucas M., Bradley or Danny Garcia over Mayweather or Pacman. They bring the money and most reward for the risk. Same with Stevenson. He wants the money, more titles, some decent wins under his belt. I suspect the same for Kovalev if he gets that big victory over someone like Stevenson. His team will be looking for the big payday vs just taking a big risk to appease people.
Mayweather says it best. "Boxing is a business."
He isn't getting any younger the longer he waits the closer father time comes creeping near to him and this is me making mentioning to the fact Adonis is like 36/37 years old...
He should take EVERY big fight he can whilst he still has whatever he has left in the tank because I doubt he will carry his reflexes and speed into his 40s.Comment

The answer is to have just one champion in each division, so that the best won't have the excuse not to fight the best.Comment
