Former four division world champion Roy Jones Jr. is spending some time at Big Bear and helping Jean Pascal (28-2-1, 17KOs) with his strategy for the upcoming fight Lucian Bute, on January 18th at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada.

Pascal should avoid trying to make it a boxing match, says Jones, because trying to win a boxing match will give Bute (31-1, 24KOs) the best possibly opportunity to win.

Theres so many ppl who think this is 50-50 which is a sham as this Bute dude aint nothin big. Jean Pascal will hand Bute's Bootay to him by stopping him.

Jones is right. I think Pascal needs to take the Froch approach to this one and put it on Bute from the first bell.

I couldn't agree more. Bute, while he bombed vs Froch, is still a good boxer with good movement, decent speed and power. Froch won by bull rushing him once he sensed that Bute would go on the defensive easily and be hurt. But if Pascal stays on the outside to box, Bute could tag him. Pascal has to press the action and make Bute uncomfortable the way Froch did. But not get reckless with no defense.

The only chance Bute has in this fight is that deadly body shot. I can't remember which hand, but I do remember him taken people out with body shots.

The problem is Pascal has a small gas tank, opposite of Froch

BUTE made a mistake to not take the rematch clause with FROCH,if he boxe with FROCH like GROVES he will win;he accepted the war and he has been knocked out.

Did I miss something about Pascal he kind of sort of fights the same way circle on the outside flash in for some combos then back to catching his breath , he's fun to watch but has flaws which is why this is a pretty intriguing fight.
