Yeah but Golovkin is a star here, not Murray.

Also, I doubt he'd get paid more for Strum than for GGG's fight.

He almost certainly would. He will have seen Barker's last cheque. Not that he'd get the same but I'm sure he wants to see what they'd put up. Sturm is huge in Germany and is even more popular having won a 4th world title.

So they should have to overpay him an amount he doesn't deserve? I'm sure fletcher is offering him much more to fight in his undercard

Him traveling to fight strum and Sergio has nothin to do with golovkin or how much he actually deserves. Nice deflection tho

Murray is a good fighter and fringe world class but why are people annoyed that he is not fighting Golovkin?

          He'd be a sitting duck.

Can't say I'm at all arsed about that fight.

If Golovkin is HBO's golden boy there should be bigger fish to fry for him.

It does actually. He quite clearly beat Martinez and was not given a decision which would have made him the lineal middleweight champion of the world. Should he lower his expectations of what he should get just to please some nerds on the internet?

Like I said, if Golovkin's people really want these fights so bad, pay up. GGG is the goods, right? So they'll make it back when he dominates the world, no?

All these euro guys stink and would get iced by GGG. GGG should be aiming for martinez, chavez jr. and ward.

So why is he traveling to fight fletcher? I bet Fletcher's team made him a huge offer way bigger then golovkin. Surely fighting fletcher for change on golovkin a undercard is not lowering expectations

Why should they have to overpay him? Why because he traveled before, what does this have to do with golovkin or with his worth? Oh nothing

                  Because he's a top 10 MW.... not only that, he's Golovkin's mandatory.
Everybody complains he doesn't step up in competition... then he should fight his mandatory to show it
Biggest downside to Golovkin is he hasn't fought many top fighters, most were rated at the bottom of the top 10 at 10.
Murray is a proven fighter, so why not?

I just gave you multiple instances of people who'll bypass Murray in 2014. Outside chance...what's Murray going to do? Sit and wait fighting bums so he can get his money shot with Sturm? What's the likely hood of Sturm rematching a guy who could've beat him? Only people he'll rematch is the guy who beat him and the guy who cheated him.

No problem with him wanting a money fight, but he wants a money fight that he probaby can't get. WHat's he gonna do? Fight bums for the rest of his career hoping Sturm fights him? What if Sturm never fights him then?

It's about building the fight up. Golovkin is the best in the division and the WBA (super) champion. WBA interim, WBA world champion, then Martin becomes No 1 in line for a shot at Golovkin. With all going to plan, each fight the interest will grow and the fight will become bigger
