They're both cut from the same cloth, trying to down play other era's and greats to make this weak one look better to suit their obvious agenda. I'm just surprised the mods have let this go on so long, its a clear bait thread and should be deleted.

I think both of these fights are a toss up although Rigondeaux would most likely be the favorite, HBO would be all over this fight.

The Ali of the 70's,..Post Frazier I----would have some challenges with Vitali. Wladimir's chin would be his downfall.

The Ali(Cassius Clay) of the mid to late 60's would have run rough shod over anyone in todays HW division. Way,...way,..way too fast..way too skilled,. Sick Footwork/movement.

I think Prime Lewis would have presented competitiveness with even prime Ali.
I think prime Holyfield would have had some minor success.
I think prime Mike Tyson would have had considerable chances early on(rds 1-5),..

Outside of those guys,..not too many modern era challenges to Ali. He was that good.

Yes. Eastern Bloc fighters were forbidden to fight the pros from the rest of the world.

              The result?

Fighters from behind the Iron Curtain were full grown men , selected and trained from childhood, backed up by the best science available to the Soviet Union at the peak of it's power. They fought amateurs (mostly teens?) in the Olympics every four years.

              And failed to dominate.

              Your premise is ****.

Ali would have done one of his dramatic in-ring collapses just having to stare across the ring from a true beast like Alexander Ustinov. They'd need his customary smelling salts just to revive him for the first bell.

He'd smoke everyone in the HW division and UD the Kilts.
Nah I doubt Ali's manager would let him fight in the HW division. Probably cruiserweight or LHW.

Ali would definitly have a chance at beating todays smaller HW's like Mike Perez but he could make more money at LHW.
