it doesnt change the fact that arum is a notorious scumbag and that his fighters are trying to go to GBP or elsewhere.

We always hear the same old crap about Arum, and his clever off-the-cuff retort to the reporter who reneged on Arum's boozy off-the-record confidence the night before... "I was lying last night but I'm telling the truth today". It was regarded as a snappy, clever, on the spur, (of the moment) back-answer when he said it, but BoxingScene urban drek has smeared it into a "to be shot at dawn" crime.

Other than Oscar, for business reasons and a big helping of envy, and Mayweather, who is a malicious child and left because he said that Arum "wasn't promoting me properly", I haven't heard of anyone with such a degree of hatred and jealousy against Arum. Indeed, his former fighters have the finest things to say about him. He promoted every top fighter that Don King wasn't , and in fact also those that were lucky enough to get away from King. He did 26 of Muhammed Ali's fights and Marvin Hagler's whole career from beginning to end, with nothing but a handshake agreement. Also George Foreman's whole comeback to win the title.

So why don't you do us all-including the clueless lemming denigrators- a good turn for the New Year, by telling us the 57 different reasons that make Arum "a scumbag".........

Let's be honest for a second.

Juan Manuel Marquez will never fight Manny Pacquiao for the fifth time no matter how much money you give him. Not because Marquez is scared of Pacquiao but because he knows he can't knock Pacquiao out again like what he did in their fourth fight. Like he said he wants to take that memory with him for the rest of his life and that the chapter is done. Period.

At the same time regardless of what people think. No amount of money could have made Lennox Lewis get in the ring with Vitali Klitschko for the second time. Lennox Lewis knows he got away and fighting Vitali Klitschko again would have been his biggest mistake.

Same thing with Mayweather Jr. He knows in his heart Manny Pacquiao is a risk he's not willing to take no matter how much he gets paid. Maintaining his zero is too important to him.

I'm sure there are more examples but I'm really tired right now. I hope I've explained it well. There are just those instances when no money in the world will push a fighter to get in that ring. Those three examples I gave are 100% true no matter which fighter you are rooting for.

marquez is also at the fragile age of 40. he clearly wants to avenge his loss to bradley and move on from the sport. he already has 4 fights with manny, 3 being highly contested and 1 by brutal KO - nothing more needs to be said.

pac******s never stfu about legacy over money but are quick to ridicule marquez for being a coward because he's not taking a money fight.

Don't you think that asking Pacquiao to leave Top Rank for the fight IS "roadblocking"...?? I can't think it's anything else. Are you so blinded by your own argument that you can't see the facts ?? Top Rank is still the premier promoter with it's own PPV capabilities and constantly innovating the industry. And even if Golden Balls had a good year, what about it; Top Rank also had a good year. Showtime had a good year..so did HBO. But Arum and HBO have to release their long-time global icon just because Mayweather is behaving like a spoiled child and by doing this give Golden Balls and Showtime a huge achievement. You know nothing about business, and certainly not the PR business.

Phoney doesn't want to make the fight until he is certain he will win and take only little damage. That time seems not yet to have arrived.
