    WBC Heavyweight Tourney in 2014?

I think this makes the most sense, why not have a WBC tournament for the heavyweight title? Like they did after Ali was stripped of his belts.

I know Stiverne is number 1 contender and Arreola is number 2 (how??) but personally, if I was HBO I'd put together a 6 man tournament featuring the 6 most marketable heavyweights in the division ranked by the WBC.

    So:
    Stiverne
    Arreola
    Chisora
    Fury
    Perez
    Jennings

Perez has some notoriety, Fury too, Chisora is most definitely a name, Stiverne and Arreola of course and Jennings can be billed as the nest American hope. I'd have Wilder in there but I think he is with showtime unless I'm mistaken.

So let's get these guys together (they all seem to be able to fight on HBO). The winner of Chisora v Fury 2 fights the winner of Perez v Jennings and then that boxer takes on Stiverne/Arreola for the title.

Jennings has to get past Szpilka first.

I think the same. I've said for a while, Jennings may just be the most skilled heavy of American descent. Szpilka hits hard though so Jennings defence and chin will be put to the test.

Wilder is a GBP boy, replace him with Charr and that's a good line up.

But I don't like a tournament that is this long, that would most definitely last over a year. Have Stiverne and Arreola fight and win some WBC title to stroke their egos, while the other four fight and the winner gets Stiverne/Arreola for the "real" WBC championship. Short and sweet.

Great idea...could Ruiz be added to the mix?

                  forget the tournament
winner of Stiverne-Arreola 2 needs to fight Wlad ASAP
after that the real champ can finish cleaning out the division
everybody can get a shot eventually
don't want a loose belt floating around the division now
Wlad-Povetkin was supposed to solve that problem

No, I just don't like Ruiz, he hasn't earned it at the top. Maybe in a year or 2 time, especially if he can get himself into better shape.

I'd prefer Wlad not having the WBC belt cos that gives the WBC the excuse to turn in a diamond championship, and then lesser fighters can avoid fighting Wlad in favour of gettin money and a "world" title shot for the so called "regular" title. Like Povetkin did for years.
