Comments Thread For: Hryunov, White Further Discuss Roy Jones-Anderson Silva

Russian promoter Vladimir "красивый" Hryunov has approached UFC President Dana White to discuss the possibility of staging a cross-sport battle between 44-year-old former champion Roy Jones Jr. (57-8, 40KOs) and former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva (33-5 in MMA, 16-1 in the UFC), 38-years-old.

Earlier this year, Chris Weidman (10-0) knocked out Silva in the second round, snapping Silva's near seven year undefeated run and 16-0 streak in the UFC. Their rematch is scheduled to take place this coming Saturday.

Roy Must Be Out Of Money; If This Match Happens, He Gets Humiliated Early

What makes Roy think he has ANY chance? I don't think he even thinks he does. But might make a quick million bucks, but he'll end up just like James Toney did. He'll launch a punch or two, get taken downon his back and put in choke hold that comes within an inch of his own life..... THEN WHAT WILL YOUR EXCUSE BE THEN ROY.... as I paraphrase those famous words from Antonio Tarver.... I hope the fight gets made. Have never liked Roy Jones.

The fight is said to be a boxing match. So take any MMA moves out of the equation.

If anyone has seen Silva's lone boxing match (I think it is still on youtube) then you would know Roy could wear a blind fold and still spark Anderson.

MMA fighters would embarrass boxers in an octagon just like boxers would embarrass an MMA fighter in a boxing match. Very uninterested in this fight "competetively" but the entertainment value has my attention. I would watch just because it Roy Jones vs Anderson Silva.

I would say a boxers chance of winning a mma bout is about 30% due to it being a who hits who first sport ..If a mma guy stepped into a boxing ring with any prime boxer they would have a 0% chance of winning

They should make it a boxing match but they wear the 4 oz gloves that they wear in ufc. Then it would be more interesting

IF it is boxing rules, then Jones should win. They will probably make it financially feasible for Dana and Silva to go to Russia.
