Martinez got hurt the first time he got hit, he was gassed out against a guy who threw no punches. I don't see Cotto putting him to sleep, but Cotto will break down that body and wreck Sergio's pretty nose with his jab while Martinez hands are on his sides like usual. I can see a late TKO stoppage, Sergio's stamina is possible worse than Cotto's at best it's even IMO and Cotto is the better pressure fighter.

BTW WTF is Sergio even talking about? He has no leverage for this fight, he is the champion... Big deal. Cotto is the draw and the reason this fight will sell. Is he complaining about the weight maybe? Or the money? Last time I saw Sergio calling out Cotto he said he would fight him at 155 and for 20% of the purse. My guess is that Cotto is using Sergio's EXACT ****ING words on his ***** ass and Sergio is now pissed off about it. Cotto should just come out and say "don't open your mouth then b*tch." It's really as simple as that, we know that Cotto is an ******* but really who cares you are fighting the guy not making friends, negotiations are a fight before you enter the ring. Sergio is just pissed because he won't be able to win pre, during or post fight.

What the hell are you talking about? Martínez has great stamina, he threw around 900 punches vs a CW JCC Jr and was moving around the ring the whole time, the guy has fantastic stamina when he trains at 100%.

Been a Cotto fan since the get go but this isn't a good fight for him..if Sergio has any kind of legs still under him and fights Cotto at a distance Miguel loses this fight decisively...body attack isn't going to beat Martinez..too many years of soccer have built this dudes core strength to beat him that way.

Can anyone summarise or shed insight into some of the things Martinez is referring to?

Cotto comes across pretty likeable to most people and has done for some time. Of course things can be decieving and we often see a best version.

I thought both were relatively sound characters but there's rarely smoke without fire.

Martinez has also complained about a few too many boxers as-well IMO.

This too, Sergio complains about everything and/or that he feels disrespected. It could just be a way to motivate himself into cracking a dood in the face, but no fighter has ever respected this guy according to him.

Sergio has gotten tired in nearly all his fights, I'm not knocking the guy but he is 39 years old. His stamina was awful in his last fight and he got tired against Williams (expected) and Pavlik. He isn't Margarito, Mayweather or Pacquiao level of stamina by any means.

Kris, from what I remember Coot supposedly snubbed Martinez while they were co promoting an event in Mexico city. Martinez has hated his ass and been pretty jealous of Cotto for a good two years now . This is a tough match up for Cotto though as Martinez is tall with good reach and if Martinez fights smart he could make it easy on himself. I think Cotto has a shot though, if he and Roach come in with a good game plan and remember when Chavez actually threw punches he had no problem landing, especially the jab, they do have a chance to wear Martinez down and out. interesting fight for sure. Plus I think MArtinez will show Cotto no respect and engage too much. bad choice IMO.
