Super Six was a Showtime thing and rite then he signed a 3 fite deal with HBO and had a good excuse.

You just have to look at the cupcake defenses he has made and that Librado Andrade incident was beyond pathetic shows how protected he is

If we are being completely factual there was never an offer for Bute to join the Super 6.

What happened was that Bute's manager made it abundantly clear when the S6 was being discussed that any offers would be turned down without consideration.

Therefore Showtime moved on to finding 6 fighters with balls before extending any formal offers.

      Read the fifth line
While the rest of the boxing world is somewhat enthralled with Showtime's Super Six World Boxing Classic super middleweight tournament, IBF 168-pound titlist Lucian Bute is content to be on the outside looking in.

Basically his team didnt even wanna be put on the spot with an offer and Bute makes great money beating up janitors and has beens in Canada where the refs look away when hes KOed on the floor (andrade fite) so you know why would he risk that

I always wondered why he wasn't in there because at thetime I thought he was worthy of participating. I did think Kessler would win the entire thing but KEssler has fallen off since then.

Not the least bit interested however I can see Bute getting sparked. Both are garbage and the fight is pointless.

                  It's this simple...
Pascal was actually able to stun iron-chinned Hopkins. It's no secret that Bute has a weak chin. Pascal by stoppage!

I don't think he was. Which is wild when we think of how the landscape would be different now if here were in it. Not saying he'd beat Ward, just saying the pecking order would probably be different now.

It's good seeing the energy that fights bring to the Bell Center. God bless the Cannucks, they love their fighters... maybe even more than we love ours here in the States. Yeah, Bute has been protected a bit, but I still think he has talent and will prevail vs Pascal. Like he said, all he has to do is stay busy and relax.
