In April of 2010, Martinez upset Kelly Pavlik to capture the WBC and WBO middleweight titles. After the loss, Pavlik was never the same fighter. In 2012, Martinez dominated Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. to reclaim the WBC's middleweight title. Chavez has since left the middleweight division.
