Comments Thread For: Groves Drifting Away From Hearn To American Promoter?

According to a report in Daily Mail, super middleweight contender George Groves (19-1, 15KOs) is considering promotional offers from Golden Boy, Top Rank, Lou DiBella and K2 Promotions. Groves' promotional deal with Eddie Hearn of Matchroom has expired, says the boxer.

Groves is coming off a controversial nine round TKO defeat to IBF/WBA "regular" champion Carl Froch. He prefers to face Froch next in a rematch, but the Nottingham boxer is not interested.

Right move, because watching HEARN's face after that ridicolous stoppage,it was clear he screwed GROVES. Anyway FROCH lost all credibility if he doesn't fight GROVES in a rematch,he lost his credibility also without rematch watching how GROVES beat his ass before the worst stoppage i've ever seen live!!!

hmmm, i have always been a froch fan but, if its true that hes duckin the saint then...thats a little like what HE SAID when he was giving the great j.c. the come on like j.c. needed him.
carl froch has stated he only has a few left. fact.
andre wont go for it. im pretty sure.
hes beaten pascal and bute so what next?
its either the golovkin fellah or the saint.
the saint is big numbers here in england aaaaaaand it drew interest over the pond.
im beggining to think carl is losing confidence and the money doesnt even stir him for a rematch which im sure will earn both figthers alot more money.
its either andre or the saint OR.....walk away.
new baby, georgoeus wife....happily ever after.

Smart man. Using leverage to get a rematch with Froch.

Good to hear. Groves is indeed an exciting fighter (I love his feints and stance), so here's hoping a U.S. promoter can get him deals to fight the big-name SMWs or LHWs. That should be enough to enable him to move past the Froch "loss".

IMO Groves puts a beating on Chavez Jr., Abraham, Kessler and Stieglitz, but will struggle with Bika and Ward. 175 is a different matter.

Kessler is a harder fight than Bika

Groves needs to give Hearn an ultimatum: Rematch or I walk.

If GBP manages to sign groves they will sell him as the best smw in the game and claim he will defeat ward all while never sending any serious offers to HBO

That would be a good idea for his career, then go to TR and be fed to Ward lol

He already fought on a GB card once , they have some decent younger SMW and Bika who has the belt.

Hearn knows Froch is getting older wouldn't want to lose Groves also maybe he'll try to position him for Stieglitz belt later in the year if no rematch.
