  • *****s have every excuse in the book for floyd ducking certain opponents its not even funny. Fact is manny has a better resume at the lower weight classes and at 147 than Floyd. History will remember manny as the greater fighter and floyd as one of the most skilled.

      • Floyd made a point post broner of saying how he never made fun of pacquiao which I thought was a classy move and a sign of maturity and now here he is.

Maybe it's a sign he's seriously considering helping pac out by making the fight and this is the first gamesmanship in the physiological battle.

        Probably not though.

        • Everyone in this thread should read these first:

          http://www.fighthype.com/pages/maywe...imeline-1.html

          http://fighthype.com/pages/mayweathe...imeline-2.html

Realize that the only time Mayweather "said no" to an offer Goldenboy and Ellerbe denied that negotiations ever even took place. Arum confirmed he never contacted Mayweather or Goldenboy but rather spoke with head of HBO. The head of HBO never spoke with Mayweather or Schaefer but rather an undisclosed representative for Golden Boy. This is the only time Mayweather "said no" and that's when there were no actual negotiations taking place.

Pacquiao on the other hand said no to:

          1) 147 lb limit at first
          2) 14 day cutoff at first
          3) no cutoff date at first
          4) $40 million guaranteed purse (his highest purse ever, and he was definitively the lesser draw at the time)

Yet Mayweather is ducking. The logic of some people. I don't understand how the person who is saying "No" wants the fight, while the person who is making stipulations is ducking.

          Here's an analogy for example:

You want to borrow my car so you say

"hey man let me borrow your car"

          I respond

"since it's my car, you can borrow it but only if you put gas in it" (aka I have leverage since I have a car so you must concede to my demands aka Floyd is the bigger draw)

          You respond

"Well I have a car too, so no I won't put gas in your car if that's the only way I'm able to use it" (aka Pac has leverage and is his own big draw)

          I respond

"well you know what you have to do to use my car, but if you don't want to then so be it"

          you respond

"you're not letting me use your car"

In this case I am CLEARLY letting you use the car, but since it is my car I can make whatever demands I wish in order to let you use the car. If a third party observer saw this they would state that you were being selfish because I was attempting to do something for you that I didn't have to but I was just assuring mutual gain. In this case Floyd is clearly the bigger draw and would be doing the favor for Pac, thus Pac needs to assure Floyd's mutual gain.

It was posted here earlier, Floyd makes ridiculous money no matter who he fights at this stage: he gets his money from Showtime, the larger purse split, the larger gate split, the larger PPV split, and he probably gets more clothing and endorsement money as fights draw closer. That's why he was saying that if he cherry picks so be it, he can make his money elsewhere and he doesn't really care what people think since people already know he's the best regardless. This much is true, as much as Pac fans may hate Mayweather and deny this forever, the majority of boxing fans, and analysts agree that he is the best fighter on the planet now.

No matter of this happening or not if Floyd loses a fight dudes are doing to be doing standing back flips. I mean seriously dudes have been waiting for a minute so they probably have a good idea about what memes and gifs they will make when the time comes.

If it happens in the next fight it would be even better for them because the possible opposition isn't exactly stellar.

When the time comes I am not going to begrudge these dudes their day/weeks in the sun though because they have been dreaming about it for so long they straight up need it (which is some sad shit but that is beside the point), as I have had more than enough enjoyment from Floyd's 15 year run and I don't need to be greedy.

            • As expected some of his fans caught feelings, the same idiots who still accuse Floyd of ducking. None of this contributes to anything though, why doesn't Pacquiao leave Arum and make the fight happen already?

                • Mayweather likes to say he has nothing against Pacquiao but it's plain he hates him and never intended to fight him but tries to make the fans think he was the one that wanted the fight. He never intended to send Pacquiao a dime let alone 40million bucks. It's just more lies from a proven liar. Anyone who thinks Mayweather's offer was a serious, sincere offer has no idea how big fights are made. In the history of boxing can anyone name one big fight that was made between the two boxers in a short phone call? No fights have ever been made like that and none ever will. If Mayweather and the people who represent him had sent Pacquiao a legal contract to sign that would be a real offer but Mayweather has never done this and he never will. It's easier and safer to attack Pacquiao on twitter. If Pacquiao had said yes to the 40million offer he never would have received any money. Pacquiao could not legally accept money from Floyd without paying taxes on it and giving Arum his share as his legal promoter. It's amazing how many naïve fans believe Mayweather would have sent Pacquiao 40 million bucks if Pacquiao had said yes.
