Comments Thread For: Frampton Not Impressed, Wants To Batter Kiko Martinez

EBU super bantamweight champion Carl Frampton (17-0, 12KOs) is hungry to get his hands on IBF champion Kiko Martinez (30-4, 22KOs) in 2014. Frampton had little trouble in stopped Martinez in the ninth round of their February battle. But since the loss Martinez racked up three knockout victories, including a TKO win over Jhonatan Romero to capture the IBF crown. Frampton, the IBF's Inter-Continental champion, wants Martinez's crown.

Frampton wins again if they have a rematch and that mite be his best bet of getting a belt in this division cuz i dont see him beating either cruz or rigondeaux

"Had little trouble"? Yeah right, that fight was tough as anything for Frampton. Granted, the KO was perfect, but Martinez was hunting him down like a foxhound all night. A rematch should be essential just for the entertainment value alone, as well as the belt.

Winner should obviously unify with Quigg, or be fed to Rigo for a boxing clinic.

I'd like to see a rematch. In fact I want to go watch the first fight again as I recall having it very close (I think I had Kiko edging it prior to the stoppage) and everyone seemed to see a different fight to me.

I had Frampton slightly ahead but it was definitely close. Rewatched it recently and it was a great fight and a great finish by Frampton. When he sits down on his shots and doesnt flurry he has genuine power, which is always fun to watch at the lower weights

Rematch would be interesting. Has Frampton worked on his defence? Has Kiko worked on his stamina (i reckon he gassed a little in the 9th)?

          I'd watch

I agree with your post but as boxing fans we should not say this!

I'm a fan of his but he is an interim belt holder, nothing more

Why not? It's a great domestic scrap that's been brewing. Both are undefeated and have local followings, so it needs to happen.

Quigg was in the ring after the Martinez-Mathebula fight. I would imagine Hearn will make Martinez a considerable offer.

Of course i'd love to see the fight, but it isnt a unification is what I meant.

                  Quigg isnt a world champ.
