The demands of boxing fans around the globe has reached at an all time high, if things were to fall through the cracks from these heights both parties involved will suffer huge financial setbacks, something that Showtime just can't afford at this point in time due to the losses already taken from Mayweather's contract.

All things considered, negotiations have come too far for this fight to be called off. I'm confident that it's going down on May 2nd, Floyd will announce the fight during All star weekend and die hard boxing fans around the globe will jizz their pants when it happens. #believe

i dont know why it cant be done. wait, i mean i know why but its like come on man. u have to put ur foot down at one point. i know there's hardcore fans of floyd and manny out there but there's gotta be a limit where u have to put being a fan aside and start thinking like a logical person. they are playing all of us, so why should we give them our attention.

I'm not so sure on the May 2nd date now...maybe they are working out a later date at this point...there really should be more hype and promotion for a fight of this magnitude to really grab the casual fan ppv money...merchandising...etc...

Sticking with the May 2nd date now just seems ******. Being on Cinco De Mayo weekend wasn't going to help sell the fight that much if at all. Now if the fight does get made they have to rush the promotion and possibly leave a lot of money on the table.

I've said this before here: September date seems more likely...

September is too long of a wait at this point...late May or early June makes more sense...or make it July 4 weekend...September gives them both a long layoff between fights...

Why? Pacquiao would fight May 30th and then by the time they rest up and negotiate again it would be confirmed at July the earliest which is no more or less time than there is now.

I agree. I could honestly see this fight going under 3 million buys now.

How do you figure that more promotion time means more PPV buys for this figh?
