Ali beat: foreman, liston twice, frazier twice, patterson twice, norton twice and like 30 other guys that were ranked contenders.

Louis beat: walcott, schmeling, baer, conn and guys that are considered some of the worst heavyweight champs ever like carnera, braddock and sharkey.

Ali beat superior competition, case closed.

      Exactly.
Bert Sugar is just a guy who has seen alot of fights. He claims to know boxing and people like to listen to him, but that doesnt mean what he is saying is right.
      Because it isnt.

You know, Butterfly, I'm almost tempted to bring attention to a sparring session Ali had with Jimmy Ellis where the contemporary reports state that "Ali was knocked nutty", "sent crashing to the two worst knckdowns of his career", and "would have been knocked out if it had been a real fight" (to quote the Ohio News Journal, NY Times, and The Daily Messenger from back in the day), but I won't just because I don't want you to feel bad about Ali himself getting "floored" (twice, and reportedly was in very bad shape, unlike the flash knockdown Marciano suffered against Moore) by a mere blown up middleweight.

            It was.
