Joe Louis is the best heavyweight ever, by a distance. He would of beaten Ali.
oh all knowledgable one, where do you get this knowledge?
are you psychic?
by a mile?? your an idiot, this is one of the most debated issues in boxing history, no one is the greatest by a distance. imo, ali ud's louis droppin him at least twice
Joe Louis didn't have any REAL opponets. It was a weak crop. Rocky M is the #2 fighter in history behind Muhammad. CASE CLOSED!
louis fought weak competition, but marciano didn't? louis fought bigger, stronger and better guys than marciano. marciano is the most overrated hw of all time. louis would have ko'd marciano in about 5, no way if a middleweight floored marciano, then he would survive against louis' punching power.

i doubt it, louis chin wasn't the best, while ali had a granite chin. ali ko's louis in about eight, without getting floored in the fight at all.
Marciano's determination was insane. He knocked out an opponent while he had his nose split in half, knocked out a great p4p fighter (and also a bad style matchup for Marciano) while blinded at some parts in the fight. His combination of determination, stamina, and power could very well be enough to place him easily in the top 3 of all time.
As for Louis, he had the longest title defense which is why Bert said he was best. He stated this was not a 'who could beat who' ranking but who accomplished the most or something of that sort. Ali could beat Louis in my opinion. As for accomplishments, I still might be able to see Ali doing more than Louis did. Ali is better than Louis in my opinon.
I'd like to compare the life Sugar had led, the accomplishments he's had and the life he has lived to the guy who started this thread. And then I can really determine who the "moron" is.

Bert Sugar has OPINIONS about boxers and fights. We all have opinions. His opinion is no greater than yours or mine. Wake up people. Just because you've seen him on TV doesn't mean you worship him.

LuKhanLi & myself talked with Sugar for a few hours in a bar next to Madison Square Garden (we were there for Tapia-medina, McCline-Briggs).
It was some great ****, knocking a few back & talking with someone so entrenched in the fight game.
Like all of us, his opinions range from dead on, to ridiculous.
