LMAO!!!!!! Floyd's last show did over 2m. Pac's did 400k. That's a 50/50 split if I've ever seen one.

The 50/50 split is old news. That was something that was discussed 3-4 years ago. We're not sure what Arum and Manny are wanting for the fight, but whatever amount it is I am sure Mayweather is not willing to pay.

Again, Mayweather looks at the situation and says, "Why should I fight Manny if the current deal I have with Showtime will pay me 40+ million".

From a business stand point I understand this, however, sports are not always about money, money, and more money. Sometimes there is pride and entertainment value to give the fans what they want.

It is like the Olympic basketball team. They don't get paid a cent to play in the Olympics, but they do it out of pride.

Or the Davis Cup for tennis, or even the World Cup for soccer. These are all multi millionaires that get paid a fraction of what they normally get paid for pride, glory, or simple representation of their country.

So, with that, I would say to Floyd to fight Manny for glory, legacy, and for the effin United States of America.

And he'll still make millions upon millions. LOL.

I believe it has to do with race(on this site)...every champ in history has gotten his way and dictated terms...only Floyd is required to give up **** while being the top dog. PPv sales #1, multiple belts in two weight classless. ...yet he is required by people to give up what he worked to earn.

Wrong. Arum wanted to match up Floyd with Margarito and Floyd boned out. "he-here, take th-this money so I-I can fight someone else".

WRONG. While still with Top Rank, Mayweather was prepared to fight Cotto, Margarito and Hatton. On two conditions. One, he got the guarantees he wanted. Two, he got Oscar De La Hoya. Bob Arum said no because he (rightfully at the time) couldn't see the money to be made. Mayweather cut the ties, made his own way to Oscar and the top paid spot in the sport and beyond. Has he fought ANY fighter under Arum since? If Mayweather fought Top Rank fighters EXCEPT Pacquiao, then the "scared" accusation would have merit. But looking at the Cotto situation and how easily a fight got made, I don't see it.

Mayweather went to the well once to try and make that fight and, like it or not, Top Rank walked away. I can only speculate he really doesn't want Arum making a cent out of him when he didn't think Mayweather was worth it while with him. He's being a Prime Donna of the highest order because he has the leverage. I wish he'd swallow his pride for the sake of the fans, but I'm not naive to 4hink he really cares. They will remember the great fights they fought. You can buy into this is a business all you want and use that as a way of disregarding Floyds cowardliness...but this is a fight.
