I think he'll take the rematch; he's just waiting for the dust to settle.

While Froch is deteriorating (he's been in some tough fights and taken a lot of punishment), IMO, he underestimated Groves.

      Did Kessler retire?
If the Groves mandatory hadn't come up, a rubber match with Kessler would have been a great option. The fallout from Froch-Groves has, IMO, put-paid to a third fight.

lube up those knees and whip that ginger in a rematch, frochy.

froch looked like he was boxing in the mud early in that fight

i too want to see a rematch. it's a good fight. i don't think froch underestimated groves, or that it would matter if he did. he's been doing this for a very long time, and his weights are pretty consistent. he works hard, and was prepared for the fight.

it's the hard fights, dog. froch was never a great athlete, but he's gotten distinctly slower in the last couple of fights. i thought he and kessler both looked old in their last fight.

Aye, I agree. In the latter stages of Froch-Kessler II, it looked like two 'old' men laying into each other.

That said, Froch has been doing loads of TV work in the UK (he starred, with his girlfriend Rachel, on some dancing show) and was coming off one of the biggest fights of his career. It must have been pretty hard to get up for fighting a mandatory. Froch wanted Ward; he wanted the rubber match with Kessler; he wanted GGG - in short, he wanted a BIG fight.

The rematch is the best fight out there for Froch at present. It'll be a great fight. Just, this time, Froch will get to Groves earlier and win the exchanges.

My advice, watch the fight without the one-sided Sky commentary.
Naw, he was onley pawin' wi'it.

In retrospect Groves's style is wrong for Froch. If Groves fights smarter next time and avoids too many toe to toe exchanges he could get it done. Still favour Froch, but I'm nowhere near as certain as the first meeting.

Because of the ending/controversy, I think a rematch is warranted.
