Floyd Sr. mentions De La Hoya as one of his fighters, as if he raised him from a young pup. lol How much success did Oscar have under Mayweather?

The only homegrown fighter Floyd Sr. has is his son, but Floyd Jr. could've been trained by any decent coach and still become a star. You can't polish a turd, and some athletes require relatively little guidance to become great. The young Mayweather has things that can't be taught, like natural talent. If he's the only guy you can point to as your product, I'm not impressed.

Training Broner isn't a major task, either, especially at the lighter weights. Broner is talented. Too bad for Stafford that he's not as talented as Floyd.

Back in 2009 I was at the Jr Golden Gloves in Mesquite Nevada Floyd Sr brought one of his fighters who tried to copy Floyd. In his first fight the guy was terrified of the Mayweather name so he pulls out of the fight. In the second fight Mayweathers fighter fights a short fat Mexican kid while he out there trying to do the shoulder roll the Mexican kid lands an over hand right and a left hook Floyds fighter fell Hatton style and the place erupted in laughter and booing Mayweather Sr as he walked away from the ring true story if you can find video of the event 2009 Mesquite Nevada Jr Golden Gloves national Champships

What a great point you make.

The trainers can yell barbs all they want back and forth, but they never had anything to do with Broners failure.

I foot the blame on the Management of Broner and Broner himself. The trainer can only do so much. It is obvious that Broner's ego got too big. He got caught up in his lifestyle, while his Management carefully constructed his career. They made it easy for him, and it got to the poiont where they started to belief themselves he was the second coming.

Adrien's management then finally decided to place him in with guys his own size, and the second time around the guy just punched too hard.

We saw the same thing with Canelo, Chavez Jr etc. All these guys who got a path carved carefully for them, and when it was time to really step up, they falter. This is all a lottery really. Even guys who were raised through the ranks the hard way, like Dawson and Pavlik, can unravel once they reach the top and start getting distracted by the riches they made. They can blame it on their trainers, but more often than not, they only have to look in the mirror.

Wow I didnt know you had to be a professor of english to teach boxing. And you don't correct what a person says when you transcribe into text because you want to keep it original. Russell Simmons talks like a garbage man and yet he built a behemoth of an empire. So what ever language or dialect you speak no matter how good or bad does not translate into success or failure, its up to you to make your way.
