Ward has made a lot of money for his boss, given him plenty of notice and an extra fight. Let him move on if he's not happy it's the right thing to do.
No fighter is self made, every elite fighter has had an elite team behind him that he can trust and that believe in him. Hagler had hard luck for most of his career, but you no what he stayed loyal to the people that were loyal to him.

Every Olympic gold medalist doesn't become a star or is extremely marketable SRL and Oscar Delahoya were anomalies not the norm.Yes Ward has plowed thru his division, but he was also matched properly by his promoter and brought along slowly so he would be ready when the time came to step up and face elite fighters he would be ready. The wrong promoter could have ruined Ward either financially or thru incompetent matchmaking so your opinion means squat.

I'm aware that all gold medalist don't pan out. That said, they're given every opportunity to do so.

As for the way he was matched, it was pure garbage. He basically fought nobody and was pretty much thrown in the Super Six, against the then best fighter in the division and was told told to sink or swim. He didn't gradually progress through the ranks. He wasn't matched against multiple styles. And as I remember it, prior to the Super Six pretty much the entire boxing community was disgusted at how soft he was matched as a prospect. That's not how you move a fighter. Kessler was basically the first legitimate guy he fought. I think he may have fought Edison Miranda. But he was a flop at 60 and wasn't considered anuthing relevant when Ward got him.

Virgil Hunter has said in the past that they were criticized for the way that they chose to bring Ward up,but he said that he felt Ward needed it and even cited his struggle against Boone as a reference point. He said that he had to make slight changes to Ward's fighting style if he was going to be successful at the highest level.

Also gold medals are not as highly regarded as they once were and if Ward was given every opportunity then, why didn't Top Rank attempt to pick him up?Why was he originally with Roy Jones Jr. of all people?

Ward stop being a brat! The Super 6 tourney MADE Ward, the opp to fight some of the divisions most high profile names in consecutive fights and ultimately winning the tourney gave him a platform to exhibit the plethora of skills he has that we all respect and appreciate him for. Without that tourney, who knows who Ward fights and what names his record would have today. Would he have gotten all the big fights he got afterwards had his name not been elevated from that Tournament victory? Big fan but he needs to stop being a brat about this and ride out the contract that he signed. You put your name on it! That's nobody's fault but his own
