The only way i think cotto would gain with a martinez fight is if cotto wins,he gets a belt in 4 different weight classes...canelo wouldnt offer a belt,but would offer more money,so it would have to be wutever cotto prefers...which would probly be history and another belt in 4 weight classes

I've always thought old Bob would make sure Cotto gets paid more fighting Martinez than Canelo. Not saying the Martinez fight is better or bigger but Cotto stands at a much better chance beating Martinez than Canelo imo. Although money is important to any fighter, but legacy and health plays big factors as well. Cotto is a HUGE draw, him and Martinez will hit over a million buys mark my words. I do think that a Cotto/Canelo is potentially wayyyy bigger but let Cotto get this Middleweight strap first and hype it up a bit.

Yeah I remember that about Cotto having the rights to the PR PPV revenue. Definitely not the brightest businessman out there if he does go with Martinez.

I think Mayweather offered Hatton the same thing to Hatton with UK PPV, which was 1.2 million buys on Sky PPV.
