Broner got caught by Maidana's clever use of the element of surprise. AB never thought Maidana would lunge at him and connect that way.

So in effect, Maidana had the advantage from the beginning by continuing to unload and land hard shots while Broner was still dazed from the initial attack.

Broner tried to get back in the game after the 2nd round and made it a tough one for Maidana, but Chino remained in control by staying active and landing some big bombs.

I think in a rematch Maidana won't have it so easy and might even lose to Broner unless Broner blew his whole wad in this one.

I agree. AB was caught totally off guard by Chino jumping on him the way he did from the opening bell. AB got hurt in the first. Was on shakey legs and then dropped in the second. And personally, I don't think he everr fully recovered. He eventually settled in in the third and started getting some good work done in the middle rounds. And actually had success in the middle rounds walking Chino down. Problem for AB was, just about every time Chino caught him flush, he hurt him. So all the good work was erased because he'd have to go in survival mode and took a lotta punishment when he did so. I think Chino was done in the championship rounds. And if AB had had anything left, he might have stopped him or at least dropped him a couple times to make it closer on the cards.

I think there's potential for AB to do better in a rematch. And going back watching the fight. It wasn't near the one sided beatdown people, mostly AB haters, say it was. Yes, AB was soundly beaten. Yes, AB rook a good down home Mississippi ass whippin'. But that fight was no walk in the park for Chino either. I'd pick Chino in a rematch because I don't think AB is good enough defensively to make Chino miss consistantly enough to stay outta trouble. And like wise. AB doesn't hit hard enough with a single shot to keep Chino off him. To win, AB would have to fight an almost perfect fight. And IMO he's not good enough to do that against a bigger and stronger foe like Chino.

Yeah, can't discount the power Maidana has. Broner to his credit wasn't knocked out cold as some thought, but if they fight again Broner's gonna need a different strategy against Maidana or it'll be more of the same.

        Maidana was relentless.

Ab will be back he will get more money more titles an talk more s**t but not at 147 the fact dana was able to expose him like he did and proove not only to the fans but ab that he aint half as good as he talks is a plus for us as fans what if he kept fighting smaller guys then they put him in a huge ppv against a guy better then dana and it ended in the first round like i feel it would have if ab was fighting an elite at 147 that night i dont know bout yall but id be pist paying 70 bucks for a 1round ppv that had ab hyped even more then he was bfor saturday night!

If Broner had acted like a Man not a clown, he wouldve took a respectable first Loss, been able to give a post fight interview to speak his mind instead of hide & cry, and wouldnt have had garbage thrown at him.

Say what you want about Mayweather, but when it comes to fight time he is a committed gym rat and he has a high boxing IQ. That is where they are worlds apart and why Broner will never inherit the P4P throne.
              I hope so for him,

if it is only a matter of ego, a defeat could do him well.

I though start to think that Broner is much more one dimensional than i thought.

Paulie was his first fight at 147, and even though he didn't shine, he did enough to win, so I gave him a pass.

Against Maidana though he showed his limits, if against Paulie "he didn't need his legs to win", it surely wasn't the case now. I expected Broner to be able to outbox Maidana with a relative ease, pot shotting and clinching if needed.

He couldn't, and actually had more success when sticking to his usual style. My doubt is, can Broner adapt, or is he completely one dimensional?.

I agree. And I don't think he can employ a different stradegy. In order to be successful against bigger guys, you have to have something that you do great that you can lean on to overcome the physical disadvantages. Floyd has his defense and counterpunching. Pac has the speed/power combination. AB doesn't have anything he does great. He does a lotta things good. But he doesn't have that one thing he can lean on that will carry him through. He's not a good enough boxer to outbox Chino for 12rds. He's not good enough defensively to make Chino miss everything. He's not a good enough counterpuncher discourage Chino from throwing a lotta punches. And he doesn't hit hard enough to keep Chino off him. He can certainly do better. I believe he can make it a close fight. But eventually, a FIGHT is gonna break out. And he can't win a FIGHT against Chino.

You do know his jaw was probably broken and I'm pretty sure he was concussed. He was taken to the hospital. Even at that, he gave an interview in the lockerroom. Personally, I rarely even watch postfight interviews. I'm curious. Why are they such big deal to fans?

Garcia's career has been managed very well. He never faced anyone dangerous until Matthysse and Danny was ready for him.
