I love this fight. Iit will be a great chess match. And it pretty much ****s in the face of the notion that fighters need to be moved carefully as up-n-comers. Never understood why these accomplished amateur fighters turn pro and are fed guys that aren't even as good as the guys they fought in the amateurs for their first 20-25 fights. If you can fight you can fight. I hope this one gets done soonr rather than later.

BTW, am I trippin', or did Roach just say that Pac ducked a sparring session with a 5'4 jr featherweight because he's a great counterpuncher, Manny struggles with that, and didn't need that kinda stress in the gym? One must wonder. If a supreme, defensive and counterpuching jr featherweight is too difficult a task for Manny. Why in the name of common sense do people think Roach genuinely wants to put Pac in with the welterweight version of the same?

      When did Rigo beat Mares?

Against agbeko, Rigo couldn't be touched. It was clear from round three that Agbeko was nowhere near his class, and instead of going for the kill, trying to close the show and excite the fans he desperately needs to keep, he's content walking to a boring UD.

That's why people walked out, why the turned off their TVs and have no interest in seeing him again.
As long as Rigo keeps winning, somebody is gonna have to put him on TV. Nobody's buying anybody at or around the featherweight division being legit unless he beats Rigo. He doesn't have to alter **** to suck up to ignorant "fight fans."

Oh OK. I thought he may have been talking about in the amateurs or something.

He is going to have to if he wants to make money. He won't get the big fights and the top guys at 122 will bypass him by moving to 126 or 130. There won't be a demand for them to fight Rigo.
This kind of thing has happened before. Remember Marquez? Dude was not as difficult to watch as Rigo was but still had a hard time getting an audience. Barrera, Morales, Hamed all bypassed him, and no one really cared. Wasn't until he became more aggressive with more of a killer instinct that he got an audience.

And I don't think its ignorant to say the way he fights is be
yond boring. It is professional sports not the amateurs. As I said there are many defensive fighters and counterpunches who have made fan friendly fights. He doesn't.

Yeah, I remember exactly what happen to JMM. He kept winning and winning and winning. And when he got his shot, he arguably beat Pac and the rest is history.

You can't deny greatness forver. We just witnssed the fall of a fighter that was "doing what he had to do to make money." Its that cart before the horse syndrome that's killing boxing. Before you can make money. Before you can become a star. Or whatever else, you have to be a good fighter first. And more times than not if you stay good long enough, everything else will take care of itself.

I think it's too early for loma and he knows it from the way he sounded after his last fight. Seems like there pushing this fight early because it's one of the few fights that generate interest for rigo ,while keeping him away from Donaire and if loma loses he's still young and could bounce back.

                    Not happening.

Lomachenko has tons of respect for Rigo. That post fight interview was **** because of that ******ed interpreter...what is it with HBO? They can't get anyone to translate Spanish correctly in the US of all places, and now their russian interpreter is ****e too.

Anyway Lomachenko referred to Rigo as "Rigo is a great fighter, a master, and I need more fights before I can fight someone like him, of course I have a lot of respect for him"
