Of course this stuff is happening. There are always roadblocks being put by Mayweather or Schaefer, that prevent this fight from happening. Top Rank and Manny are practically begging for a fight to happen, given Pacquiao's standing and financial problems. Yet, Mayweather and Schaefer refuse to entertain the idea of a mega fight. So, who is to blame here? The people want to see this fight happen. Manny and Top Rank keep making concessions for Mayweather, in order to get the fight made. Yet, no progress. This fight will not happen. I am curious what the next batch of excuses from Schaefer and Mayweather will be.

Right now it's Manny's 1-2 record in his last 3 fights, even though Khan is 2-2 in his last 4 fights. But, let's see what they come up with next.

Arum is practically begging for the fight so much that he told GBP/Mayweather that they need to call him instead of calling them himself.

Schaefer is starting to get on my nerves. He's very vulgar and disparaging. I can't argue though that he's helping put on some great fights and his compiled the best roster in boxing.

To be honest with you, I don't think De La Hoya is anything more than a figure head for GBP's now. I think Richard is running the show with the blessing of other investors in the company.

Article makes a lot of sense, Floyd isn't signed with GBP, and doesn't need them for anything anymore.

He can move on without them anytime he wants.

They know that when Pacquiao KOs Floyd, it's like GB lost to TR too. Their company takes a hit and Richard doesn't want that. They are all dead scared of this fight and it is disgusting.

Schaefer is an employee. He has a contract with GBP for a certain amount of money for a certain period, presumably renewable. Oscar was the figurehead for a group of investors who put up the majority of the money to start the company, using Oscar's reputation and nickname of the Golden Boy. So there might be a lot in what the poster said. Oscar has been treading very carefully around Arum since he, Schaefer and GBP had to pay Top Rank an "undisclosed amount" of money, but you can bet it was huge. You should read up on how Oscar broke down, went on drugs and booze and scurried off to a sanatarium, with the possible cause having been the looming Top Rank legal suit against him. The legal fees alone must have been millions, and I suppose Schaefer hates to lose...especially to a....competitor.

The Mayweather clan had to pay up the very same way, and I suspect that it was this which caused Mayweather to break his long established custom of fighting less than once a year into fighting once every 5 months. I believe that Showtime likely pushed him into that time restriction.

Schaefer is a Swiss from the German canton, and who knows....... Arum happens to be ***ish, and very successful...... just what some people with prejudices might detest-if they have prejudices..... I'm just speculating, but he has always been very negative about Arum, even when, as in this case, there seems to be no visible reason.

As I posted earlier, Di Bello and Shaw have had blazing rows with Arum, with the most violent name-calling, but it has never interfered with them arranging fights.

You may be interested to know that the original Golden Boy was a Californian boxer named Art Aragon. He had well over 100 fights and had solid KO power. He blazed the original "golden" trail and had a taste for blondes, like Marilyn Monroe and several other Hollywood stars. He had nearly twice as many KOs as Oscar had fights.

Schaefer is fed up of hearing about it, GBP have tried to get fights happening with TR but Arum refuses to do business with GBP under any circumstances. He's finally said **** it I'm not going to bother anymore.
