I don't think I've ever been so wrong about fighter, I think I was just obsessed because he fought a come forward shoulder roll style, something we rarely see now.
Broner Doesnt Suck, I Was At The Rees Fight

He doesn't 'suck' but he's basically a mirage. The media is so powerful with their propaganda that they fool a lot of people into believing a mediocre boxer like Broner is 'great' even though he's never done anything close to greatness.
They substitute this with 'all access' shows and his 'about billions' **** on wshh. Just following the pattern of another hype job named Mayweather. The fans are so dazzled by the production value that they lose sight of the truth and begin to believe in the 'brand' instead of the actual fighter.
No difference between Floyd and Broner. Its just that people forget about Floyd getting beat down by Castillo because he's been cherrypicking for the last 10 years.
Broner does suck more than Floyd though, I will agree to that. But both are basically cowardly hypejobs supported by corrupt networks and promoters.
Those are the facts.Comment

that is why i find it surprising that many thought broner standing in the pocket was a good idea...i mean he got away with it vs small guys but did not expect he'd do it vs a power punching machine who shines when his opponents are in his face...the fight was over like a minute in. Thats when Maidana swung, Broner partially blocked it, but you could tell that even that blocked punch was 10x harder then anything he's ever felt. He had that look like "WTF"!. He came back in the middle rounds because he has skills but the end was never in doubt, atleast not if he planned to fight that same way. he was getting hit with pebbles his whole career and in the 1st round he felt bricks and that was the end of it. He could try to play it off and go toe to toe but you could tell that every shot was like damn, it looks so much easier on TV.....lolComment

Well DLT, it sounds to me like you're describing a contender. (Not a 3 time world champion), as he so generously put.
It doesn't matter if Broner was beating midgets this year in championship fights. If I go by what you're selling then they should have introduced him gradually into 147. He should not have gotten a title shot from jump.
When you act like a 3 weight titlist you should be treated like one. He got what he was billed as and couldn't hang. They should have brought him up like they did Thurman.Comment

Ghost is 30 which makes it easier, it still had been a few years since he was fighting at 130, Aydin is solid but hasnt fought anyone near the level of guys Paulie has, both Aydin & Berto have power, but they arent powerhouse guys like Maidana who is just going to overwhelm you with power and put a ton of pressure on you. Its not the same. Plus, Broner might be big but he's not Ghost big. Ghost is tall and looked like haystack in those promose with Floyd.
Either way though, Im not saying youre wrong. It still doesnt change the point that fighting Rees and then Maidana 10 months later is a how shock to the system
Stop making excuses for Broner. Aydin that fought Guerrero would beat Broner. It was a dangerous fight for Guererro all the way through. Notice when he fought Berto and Mayweather he didn't show them the same respect he showed Aydin. Theres a reason for this, Aydin could punch and he felt it.Comment

He's a '3 division champion', if he wasn't ready he shoulsn't have had the belt.. And. even then, he kind of brought it on himself the way he was talking.. If you talk that much, you have to back it up.Comment

He's an offensive fighter and Maidana made him very reactive. Broner could never really get his rhythm although he did for a bit in the middle almost but he was never able to step on the gas to really make anything of it before Maidana stepped on the gas.
Broner fought a poor fight and Maidana fought very well but this sort of thing was always going to happen to Broner at some point and the fact that it happened now instead of later is probably better for Broner because it gives more possibility of him growing up and taking the sport as seriously as he should as he has tools to be a quality fighter.Comment

I think your over playing the size excuse.
Broner was getting caught because he was playing with his hands down, standing flat footed in the pocket with a puncher and not using his feet. He fought Maidana like he was Paulie, Gavin Rees and Antonio DeMarco.
That has to do with fighting smart and having a good game plan going in. Not adjusting to a new weight class. Maidana is a big puncher against anybody from 140-147. But even a guy like Devon Alexander was able to neutralize his power, use his feet, tie him up and cruise.
Weight isn't an issue. Matthysse would have given him the same issues if he fought at 140.Comment

Mosley jumped from 135 to 147 as well and fought Hoya and won. Keep in mind Hoya was a BEAST at the time.Comment
