Anyone Surprised By Maidana's DEFENSE???

This fight was not about Maidana's defense at all, rather it was about Broner not throwing enough punches. Seemed like when he did throw punches, he landed.

Yeh thats my take bud. Round 12 was evident of that.

maidana has more head and upper body movement that's for damn sure. but to be fair, AB has no neck, it's difficult for him to have any type of head movement.

broner's defense is one dimensional, it was exposed badly in the malignaggi fight and last night. maidana looped his right hand down and over the shoulder, threw clean punches to the body and roughed broner up. it was awkward but beautiful.

Maidana has been improving since he hooked up with Garcia, feinting and rolling punches. He had goo defense and Broner didn't land nearly as much as the showtime crew made it seem like he did. I'm so glad Maidana won, he's been one of my favorites since his close loss vs Kotelnik. He is 1000 miles better than he was in 2009. This Maidana KO's Khan.

Madaina 's defense has improved slightly , but it looked better due to Broner being too gunshy to throw. broner was too busy recovering and resetting to throw enough punches. Seems he not very effective when he cant lead and the opponent can hurt him back and upset his rhytm.

Maidana truly lives up to the hype that started after he blaster ortiz after being dropped 3 times.

Ya, Maidana didn't just dominate last night, but showed more skill doing it. He wa clearly the more skilled fighter last night. His awkwardness makes it even harder for a robot fighter like Broner.

Exactly! if I had predicted him to win it would of never been like that. The way he out skilled broner totally shocked me.

Everyone's talking about Maidana's offense but am I the only one that noticed Maidana's underrated Defense last night? I did not see Broner land much on Maidana honestly at least not consistently and most of Broner's combos were getting blocked.

How come no one's impressed by Maidana's defensive wizardry last night or am I just crazy. I would love to see punchstat numbers, I am really curious to see if Broner's connect percentage was lower than usual because I considered him a pretty accurate puncher previous to this. Anyone have the numbers yet?

i think broner normally lands in the 40% ish. Last night it was in the 20s.
