Anyone Surprised By Maidana's DEFENSE???

Everyone's talking about Maidana's offense but am I the only one that noticed Maidana's underrated Defense last night? I did not see Broner land much on Maidana honestly at least not consistently and most of Broner's combos were getting blocked.

How come no one's impressed by Maidana's defensive wizardry last night or am I just crazy. I would love to see punchstat numbers, I am really curious to see if Broner's connect percentage was lower than usual because I considered him a pretty accurate puncher previous to this. Anyone have the numbers yet?

Chino was sitting right under broners left hook almost every time it was beautiful

Marcos has definitely improved his skill set. He was showing defensive adjustments and footwork not seen in his previous fights. Much props to Garcia for helping Marcos continue to elevate his game.

Garcia deserves a lot of credit for fine tuning Maidana's defense. He has definitely improved some.

I've seen improvement in his defense in the Karass and Lopez fights. Garcia's done a hell of a job..

Since maidana has moved to welter, and has been working with garcia, he looks like a much more polished and mature fighter. He is still alittle wild at times on offense, and his defense isnt air tight, but he has improved alot since the ortiz and khan fights IMO
