Jüergen Bräehmer won the WBA light-heavyweight title when he beat Marcus Oliveira on points on Saturday night.

The 35-year-old German, in his second attempt to win a “world” title in the division, won the fight in Neubrandenburg by 117-110 on two cards and 115-112 on the third.

The two fought for the vacant title after Beibut Shumenov of Kazakhstan was promoted to “super champion” earlier this year.

It was a balance thing. Abell caught him with a great left hand. Pulev ate more lefts then he should have but he took them really well. Abell has pretty good handspeed. A poor man's corrie sanders. Pulev was overconfident & got careless. He was embarrassed & immediately closed it out. Abell gave him some problems early but the gap in talent was apparent once pulev put the pedal down. I don't recall seeing pulev in that good of shape. He is a big man & wlad will not be able to lean on him like he did povetkin. I'd give him a great shot at beating wlad if he hit harder but he still has a chance to win in my opinion. I think wlad at 37 is vulnerable especially since steward isn't in the corner anymore...
