He forgot Floyd retired rather than fight Williams...lots of people forget that..not trying to drag floyd into this or anything but the last person i'd like to see disresepcted is Paul Williams..that dude would've fought Satan in a lunch box.

That wast he first thing the stood out to me Broner's lack of definition. I think the team was a bit weary after the weigh in and looked to and weight quick, and Broner looked sluggish too just a blown up LW really..

Kinda feel bad for Broner dude got all them kids and stuff this was a major major blow to his career. Dude better save his money like he could be another Berto.

            • black boxers

I support Black boxers but Broner ain't mayweather so don't give an L to Mayweather cuz Broner got beat up.... Broner can redeem himself...but he gotta get serious about the sport n his opponents, welterweight. Divisions the toughest one n boxing right now, he came from 130lb+ division, he gotta perfect his defense. u don't jump divisions then run around drinking n doing rap concerts overweight n then have to lose weight for this fight. But a L won't stop Broner from bn great...he can avenge that lost n have a sugar Ray Leonard type career..if u had to have a perfect record to b great only 3 people would b in the hall of fame.....b realistic

Oh come on now, don't make Paul Williams be this tough as nails guy. Don't forget that for the second Sergio fight he forced Sergio to a catch weight fight. Even though Sergio was the champ.

                • Great fight! WOW! Maidana came out like Roberto Duran! Broner was trying to be cute when he should have been sticking and moving. He's still good though, he just obviously doesn't belong at 147. He needed to be humbled, he doesn't know how to lose and that's what irks me the most. If you can clown in the ring, out of the ring, be brash and obnoxious and rude, you better be able to take a loss and he can't. He shouldn't write checks that his chin can't cash.

Enough of Broner, this is Maidana's night! LONG LIVE EL CHINOOOOO!!!!!

Broner is clearly not a welter he didn't look good at all coming in at 156 I noticed that right off the bat before the fight even started he looked like the blown up LW that he is. Maidana showed who was bigger and stronger from the 1st seconds of rd 1
See one thing is calling him undersized another is calling him a LW. You're on that ish, bro if you really think he belings there. He looked bigger than Paulie, too. Blown up? Look at josesito at 154, look at Marquez vs Floyd. This is Broner's second fight at 147, rhydrated to 150 plus. Its like saying Rios is a LW. Look, I had Broner winning this fight before it started and if thats what helps you sleep tonight then so be it. Just because you cant hurt a guy doesnt mean you dont belong there. Broner has always seemed as big as the 147 guys.

I CAN agree with you in the sense that for THIS fight he didnt seem as solid like he did vs Paulie and I'm well aware of of what he looked like inbetween these two fights (Remember him in the Canelo-Floyd thing where he was clearly livin it up fat?).

Broner is still a welter... Worst excuse i've ever seen. How quickly people stop calling Maidana a blown up 140 pounder now hes a good welter.

You honestly make a choice to be a heel or not and Broner had a lot of opportunity to show some civility and even after the fight..had he done his interview and been like it was a bad night at the office I would've respected that..when a boxer abandons the ring like that it's a slap in the face to the sport and the fans but you are right the kids unfortunately shouldn't have to pay for his mistakes and choices.

I agree but man as a music producer I can tell you if you are an athlete rapper the drinking puts on the weight hella fast. I've seen the nightlife age mofo's in a shorter span than anything else on earth. You can't do that dual life shh...music compromises too much of your work ethic..the life is too easy to get caught up in. Being on tour on a bus 5-12 hours a day is sitting down on your @ss all day.
You gotta give him a break though. He has a huge ego and just caught his first loss. I think some are saying his jaw may be broke too? Anyway, I think he was very emotional and devastated. So I don't blame him for leaving.

What I blame him for is stuff like the NBA acting after the headbutt. Come on now.

Oh and touring sucks, touring suuuuucks. Def hear you on the music biz stuff.
