I'm a Pac fan and also a JMM fan. I've never though Pac was cheating, but I've thought JMM has cheated for quite some time. Pro boxing is a bit of a dirty sport, always have been special deals going on behind the scenes, refs being paid off (Joe Cortez I'm lookin' at you! HA), fighters being paid to lose (Banks/Mitchell???), promoters taking advantage of fighters (Don King???), and the list goes on. Dad used to say 'and the band played on' about these type things. Pac needed a good comeback fight, and he got one w/Rios. So what if we knew Rios wouldn't win? Pac needed to regain confidence. And I have no problem with any fighter doing that after a loss. He's only had one loss in recent years (no, Bradley didn't beat him), and he was caught w/a lucky punch vs JMM. And now JMM won't do the rematch... a 10M fight for him. But it is what it is.
In the end, 25 years from now, old man Floydie will still be looked down upon for ducking Pac. Win or lose, there's really no other reason to avoid another 20M+ payday, if he thinks he can win (he doesn't) or lose. It would be a great fight, would put a great boost into boxing, would generate some serious $$$ for the sport, but the guy who's made the most in boxing refuses to give back to the sport in a way he COULD give back. I have zero respect for Floydie, and alot of respect for Pac. Anyone who doesn't see Pac as the good guy in the equation is simply blind with unwarranted rage against him. To them I say - Get a life.
