The Welterweight division is ruled by Non Welterweights.

    Devon Alexander
    Brandon Rios
    Manny Pacquiao
    Adrien Broner
    Marcos Maidana
    Zab Judah
    Paulie Malignaggi
    Timothy Bradley
    Juan Manuel Marquez
    Robert Guerrero
    Amir Khan

All those are guys who come from either 140 or even much lower weight classes and they moved up and are now fighting for belts at welterweight.

It's because they're chasing the guy that can't make 140 anymore.

    Floyd "meh" Mayweather.

Welcome to the party. This has been going on for many, many years now. Floyd came in at the right time. Even when he first fought at welterweight he first fought 140 pounders at welterweight ex. Judah, S.Mitchal don't recall the Puerto Rican who move up to fight him at 140 for Floyd first fight at 147 and i think his too.

George Forman used to say "....make as much money with that title"

You know the welterweights were a wasteland when Randall Bailey and Paulie couldn't win titles at 140, but were able to move up and win one at 147 haha

But it was cool to finally see Bailey win a title.

Paulie earned his respect during the Cotto fight. Past his prime and still doing very well, props to him.
