What mistakes would you say Khan makes in his style? I think he's too predictable. Just looking at his fight with Garcia, he kept throwing 1-2s. Also, his punches are sloppy. The replay for the third round showed that he threw a combination, and his right hand missed wildly, which allowed Garcia to throw a counter left hook over his shoulder and knock him down. Thirdly, when he gets hurt, he doesn't clinch.

Double jab / uppercut and leaping uppercut - In the Garcia fight he kept throwing the same double jab/uppercut combo, and throwing the uppercut from long range, it was an extremely risky combo to throw and I remember watching the training footage before the fight (when Roach was out of the country training Pacquiao) thinking he surely isn't going to throw that combo in the fight - it's too risky. But instead, Khan ended up throwing that combo repeatedly and we saw what happened. It's way too risky and easy to counter.
Excessively committing to Combos - Khan commits to combinations too readily it's part of his signature style - the problem is opponents have started to figure out he's going to throw a combo so they know he'll leave himself open at some point during the combo. It's why both Molina and Diaz were able to counter him because he steps in throwing a combo assuming the opponent will be too overwhelmed to return fire. The problem is he can basically fall for an opponents trap because he's throwing a combo which the opponent has already anticipated.
Underused Jab - In theory, Khan could beat nearly all his opponents using only a jab and the occasional right hand (sort of like Wladimir does in a lot of fights). He has one of the best and quickest jabs in the sport but he just doesn't use it half as much as he could primarily because he literally gets bored without being in a dogfight sometimes. I think Hunter is teaching him to start fighting more disciplined instead of trying to entertain the viewing audience with too many flashy and highly risky combos.
Backing up in a straight line - Khan still does this sometimes and he needs to always be aware of lateral movement when backing up. If you back up in a straight line it's much easier for your opponent to predict your position and land punches on you.
More varied Feints - Khan needs to use a variety of feints before committing to any combos, at the moment he uses the double jab which is similar to Pacquiao but we saw how Marquez countered Pacquiao when he tried feinting with that double jab and knocked Pacquiao out. Marquez had gotten used to Pacquiao feinting like that and Khan has become similarly predictable, at least at times. Khan needs to vary his feints and use them more wisely. Feint to the body, feint with hooks, uppercuts etc.. Don't just feint with a double jab..
There are more areas to improve on but that's just a quick rundown off the top..Comment
