It's not really that imo, it's just that they're resigned to reality.

The reality hasn't been established yet. People are bringing up the excuse before the fight is even discussed. How can a logical fan not want to see Broner vs. Thurman right now?

"Thurman needs to build his name up"? To fight a guy that hasn't even headlined a PPV yet?

Broner's. Bradley's mandatory is Pac.

The other beltholders are Porter and Mayweather. Porter has a deadline to fight Brook and Mayweather is fighting Khan.

If not Broner, Thurman will have a hard time getting a title shot.

Yea the argument can't be used at all for Thurman/Broner imo. They're pretty much in the same place in their respective careers. Both are rising fighters trying to make a name for themselves. Broner may have more fans but he isn't a star yet. Sometimes you have to go through another top, young gun to become a star/prove yourself.

Danny fought Lucas.
Floyd fought Corrales.
Broner can fight Thurman.

I don't think Broner will try to make that argument though. Hopefully, the fight can be made some time next year.

Thurman will get a shot. Its just that his promotional company is positioning Broner to replace Floyd or be Chavez to Canelo's Tyson. SO it really sucks for Thurman.

The "build your name up" doesn't apply here IMO. But its clear Broner is being groomed to headline ppv's while Thurman isn't.
