Interesting how you got red neck out of how he speaks..

Did you seen when he was confronting Paulie at the post fight press conference? I don't think a red neck say "SON" that many times in repetition.

Thurman just adapts to his enviroment. In front of HBO cameras during fighter meetings of course he's gonna sound educated. But when Paulie talked smack of course he had to get his thug on.

He has a Puerto Rican mother hense the surname Thurman that comes from his mixed race father (black/white). I believe that his father may have some ancestry in Cuba. Not too sure though.

I live in florida and you hear a lot of white dudes who sound like that due to that little southern twang on their accent. Not a black thing, more of a southern thing. When I mean redneck its not to offend just a generalization down here towards the white guys with the twang. Also look at another southern city New Orleans where you hear a lot of white guys sound like that. So yeah, when I and most people i know say redneck its to generalize a white dude with southern accent (even that good ol contreh boy accent is tossed in there).
