Makes sense at this point. re-establish canelo as a boxer who can punch. sets up a better fight the next outing-maybe even lara.
Angulo Front Runner to Face Canelo

When Canelo beats Angulo far more impressively than Lara (Which is to be expected) you won't hear me brag about it, hopefully he faces Lara afterwards.Comment

I just don't like Lara, I do recognize he is talented boxing wise but I find the style boring and difficult to watch. It is a style that troubles and turns the fight into a boring chess match. I want to see exciting, action packed fights... That is just my personal preference.Comment

If Angulo's eye isn't fked and he brings the type of pressure he brought to Lara, Canelo will be stopped.
It'd be funny to see the hypejob get stopped on his own PPV. The reactions would be priceless.

No doubt but at the same time he was willing to face Cotto as a bounce back fight and he could've very well lost that one, which would have been horrible for his career. He is just picking guys whose style favors his and helps add to his highlight reel in order to sell future fights.Comment

I do believe they (and some other top fighters) will avoid him because of his style. He is a difficult fighter and if you beat him, you won't get much recognition/props for it except from the true hardcore fans who know how good Lara is.

Lara and/or Molina will be next if he wants to win a title and be taken serious. I know they are praying that Floyd vacates so he can fight a hand picked WBC contender for a vacant title.Comment

The obvious question is: can Angulo, after going through two recent punishing wars which he was KO'd in both, be competitive in this fight or is he just gonna get blown out like Cintron did against Canelo?
I'm all for a fighter getting a tuneup after a loss but it shouldn't be billed as a PPV fight.Comment

But I agree with you as far as being a PPV event. It shouldn't be especially vs a guy coming off a quitjob.
