Makes sense at this point. re-establish canelo as a boxer who can punch. sets up a better fight the next outing-maybe even lara.

When Canelo beats Angulo far more impressively than Lara (Which is to be expected) you won't hear me brag about it, hopefully he faces Lara afterwards.

I'm not criticizing your opinion or your preference. I'm criticizing your comment. He's not avoiding Lara because of his style. He just wants to bounce back after a loss.

If Angulo's eye isn't fked and he brings the type of pressure he brought to Lara, Canelo will be stopped.

It'd be funny to see the hypejob get stopped on his own PPV. The reactions would be priceless.

I do believe they (and some other top fighters) will avoid him because of his style. He is a difficult fighter and if you beat him, you won't get much recognition/props for it except from the true hardcore fans who know how good Lara is.

No doubt but at the same time he was willing to face Cotto as a bounce back fight and he could've very well lost that one, which would have been horrible for his career. He is just picking guys whose style favors his and helps add to his highlight reel in order to sell future fights.

This will be canelo's next fight no doubt. It sets up a lara fight next as well as long as canelo wins.

He fought Trout and won. With a Floyd fight on the line too. They still had to make Floyd/Canelo a credible fight. Boxing is still a sport unfortunately.

Lara and/or Molina will be next if he wants to win a title and be taken serious. I know they are praying that Floyd vacates so he can fight a hand picked WBC contender for a vacant title.

That might be a mistake. If Angulo catches Canelo, it's gonna be all bad. Do not sleep on el Perro here.

The obvious question is: can Angulo, after going through two recent punishing wars which he was KO'd in both, be competitive in this fight or is he just gonna get blown out like Cintron did against Canelo?

I'm all for a fighter getting a tuneup after a loss but it shouldn't be billed as a PPV fight.

I think it all depends on the fighter. Angulo is a tough dude so I don't expect him to be gunshy. My main worry is the eye.

But I agree with you as far as being a PPV event. It shouldn't be especially vs a guy coming off a quitjob.
