Comments Thread For: Porter: I Would Match Up Great With Adrien Broner

Newly crowned IBF welterweight champion Shawn Porter (23-0-1, 14KOs) is ready for all comers. The unbeaten boxer scored a career-defining win last Saturday night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, when he secured a hard-fought twelve round unanimous decision over the heavily favored Devon Alexander in a featured bout on Showtime.

This coming Saturday night, WBA champion Adrien Broner (27-0, 22KOs) will defend his belt against Marcos Maidana in San Antonio, Texas. Porter says he is likely not going to be at ringside, but there is a slight possibility that he might show up.

Sounds like a great matchup. Porter will be a load for any welterweight to handle. Unification bouts are always a good thing.

I like the fight and I think Porter destroys Broner if he fights the way he did against Alexander. Let's hope it gets made if Broner wins on Saturday.

Logical next fight. For AB, its probably either this or Thurmran. And for Porter, its either this or Kell Brook in the UK. So I think ABbb and Porter are the best option for each other.

Interesting matchup. I think it could end up being an exciting fight. Both guys like to mix it up. 147 is really going to be fun next year especially if Danny and/or Matthysse move up. You have guys like Broner, Porter, Thurman, Maidana, Ghost (where has he been?), Ortiz, and Alexander all ready to mix it up.

Thought Thurman was his mandatory but w/e. Porter vs broner is a real fight.
The sad thing is Broner is suppose to whoop Maidana's a$s and he still might lose.

If Broner gets past Maidana good win, but I don't want to see him step down.
Thurman or Porter next lets see how good he really is.

Porter does have a good style to beat Broner. Adrien doesn't handle pressure well. This fight would draw very well in Ohio.

I like this fight. I'd rather Porter see fight Garcia though. After watching Broners sparring and training on all access I think Paulies right Broner really isn't a big puncher @ 147 Porter will likely walk right through him like he did Devon. Porter is a Real WW. Hell probably end up fighting Brook though...

Porter could beat Broner. He couldn't fight as recklessly as he did against Alexander because of Broner's inside game and offense in general, but he could follow the same basic principles.

                    Make it happen.

That's if he beats Maidana which by no means a certainty.
