If Chavez JR gets serious he can even be dangerous. While HBO has lost Mayweather, let's not forget that the network had him during his most productive years. Showtime is clearly getting him @ the tail end of his career. He's cherry picking his fights too. We have yet to see him fight someone he may actually lose to. Danny Garcia has potential to become a big star, while glass-jawed Amir Kahn has much less of a chance. Bernard Hopkins? Please. He's an old man with skills who just hasn't fought a true young lion yet. Alvarez is overrated and not yet proven as a true star. Bottom line, HBO has at least as much if not a better shot of making great fights as Showtime in the forseeable future.
every fighter on top rank just needs to leave and then we can maybe get golden boy working with every networkwork again Bradley pac rios and few others need to be over there or we wont get any good fights outta them Bradley and pac will have fought 3 times next I bet! showtime has the better future matchups to make

ive had hbo for free the last 2 years and its been beyond great!! a lot of fights they have provided since the split. but showtime also have given a lot of great cards as well but I eventually had to start paying for showtime

I would not be surprised. Yet another JMW, and one who is not even ranked in the top 10 at 154. The ongoing trend for the hype train.

Maybe Kirkland gets squeezed in the top 10 at 154 to make him #10 and GGG and his fans could at least say he was ranked #10.

This is a great article. Very fair and comprehensive. I especially like the part about The Fight Game losing its appeal once Lampley and Co. decided they were going to devote it to taking not so subtle shots at Showtime constantly. When it first aired about it was just straight boxing discussion with no agenda it was great. Then Lampley decided to try to interject politics with his disturbing Occupy Boxing rant while glaring into the camera, visibly shaking and about to burst into tears as usual. And then once May and GBP split the show is geared towards ripping Showtime for not allowing them to air their fight clips, ripping Showtime fighters, you name it but ripping Showtime. It's pretty sad that they ruined something that was once pretty cool and had a lot of potential.
